Hello,

Pregnancy has cured my acne.. yippee..
Hope it doesn't return.

Anyway, while blackheads are virtually non existent too - I find myself with noticeable open pores - some are not fully clear.

What can I do?

I have:
Duac antibiotic cream (not using at moment)
Clarins Cleanser
Soap and Glory Hot Cleanse / mask
Scanctuary warming scrub

I have a voucher for a beautician that I could use to buy Dermalogica.

Thanks so much for any advice (also I have a new face steamer).

have you tried benefits porefessional? it's fantastic and lasts ages!

I like The Body Shop's tea tree pore minimiser and their seaweed range as a whole.

YSL used to do a fabulous pore minimising primer but they've stopped making it Confused

Oh thank you.. I might try the body shop one as there is a great discount at the moment. Haven't heard of the porefessional.

Thanks again.

I have this problem - always have had. It's genetic, and there's nothing much you can do about it. Soz :( Various potions and lotions will help temporarily in exactly the same way as cold water does - which closes the pores. It's very temporary though.

What you can do is hide them - and Clinique Pore Minimizer is absolutely amazing. Honestly. Not cheap - about £20 for a little tube, but you don't need much, and you literally see them disappear. The stuff sinks into the pores and levels everything out - a bit like Polyfilla!

Other brands do something similar, but Clinique is the best in my opinion. I wear it without putting foundation over the top (although you can) & just a bit of translucent powder to hold it in place.

Another vote for Clinique here.

You can do a egg white mask, a granny remedy who really works the best.

I have this problem - craters of the Moon round my nose Sad. I agree with Alanna that it's genetic, as DM has them too. Liking the sound of the Clinique stuff, I'll give that a try. I've also recently started using Vichy Normaderm cleansing gel and while it hasn't solved the problem re the big pores, the smaller ones are definitely improved.

I was really disappointed in the Porefessional, FWIW. I couldn't ever get makeup to really stick to it, if you know what I mean? It just kind of smeared around...

I quite like Smashbox's primer for minimising pores.

I picked up one of these on holiday and it seems to be doing the job:

Garnier Exfo Brusher

Contains salicylic acid though so not surprising.
