Autumn/winter wardrobe staples - need help finding 3 or 4 pieces I should buy this weekend.

DH is taking me shopping to the King's Road on Saturday as my birthday present. Budget is £200-£250.

I WFH part time and the rest of the time I am with the kids so I just need good casual day to day stuff.

This birthday present originally came about because I said I needed some good quality new jeans. However having had a good wardrobe audit when I put my summer stuff away, I realise that it probably isn't blue denim jeans I need as I have a few that are ok but either a coloured pair or some cords.

I definitely need some tops as my favourite 3 all died at the end of the winter this year :( Maybe one cardigan as I have a couple that work.

And I am thinking about a denim skirt.

I'm an autumn and colours I like/that suit are: green (not emerald, more pea or lime green), mustard, chocolate brown, teal, navy, grey.

I'm size 14/16, pear-shaped with massive boobs. The only tops that suit are fairly fitted (so I don't look pregnant), with a v or scoop neck. I sometimes suit a slash neck.

Any suggestions or ideas where I should look or of items I should consider? I know I am asking a lot here, but we have a precious few child-free hours where we can focus on me (eek!) and I don't want to waste it so want to go with a few ideas first.

THANK YOU!

If it helps, I am 37, so not a bright young thing any more, have always bought a lot of clothes from Hobbs so I guess I like nice but not too out there clothes! Unfortunately their tops seem annoyingly high and round-necked this year which just will not suit me at all.

I have been looking at Phase Eight a bit but while some stuff is nice, some seems a bit meh so not sure if that is a place for me or not.

these linea long sleeve tops are nice colours and scoop neck.3/4 sleeves too
ralph lauren have slash neck Ts
french connection shirt in purple?
Also try Mango and Zara.
It might be worth booking a personal shopper in a department store to make the most of your time?

Good shops in the King's Road for this sort of thing are Peter Zones, Banana Republic, Zara and Massimon Dutti (all very close to each other at the Sloane Square end). Maybe also Monsoon and Gap, which are further down the road. Good luck!

Don't know London but am an autumn too and suit your colours.
I am 5 ft3 and size 12.
I buy from Phase Eight,some Boden,occasional White Company,White Stuff,Mint Velvet,some Autograph,Cos,etc
Have seen Massimo Dutti online and like it,however I don't have much luck in Zara whilst others love it!
I find my best bits in smaller independent boutiques, brands like Charli London,Nougat,Avoca,Noa Noa .etc
For Autumn I think the coloured cords sound good if you are ok for jeans.
Uniqlo have good autumn coloured knitwear in,I bought a green jumper from there recently that is the perfect green for us!

Thank you!!!

FauxFox - I suspect those Linea tops are going to be a bit high-necked on me (I really look at my best with a bit of cleavage on show so low-scoop or v) but I'm going to try them on because several of the colours are fab for me. Think there is a HoF in Victoria which is our station so will be able to try there on Saturday before Kings Road. The French Connection blouse is lovely - both colours are lovely and it looks a fab neckline and sleeves. Will try it and hope it's not too floaty on me :)

Going to look at all the other suggestions online this evening as I don't know much about any of them. I really have been just a Hobbs girl recently but I don't like this season at all :(

Will see if Peter Jones have a personal shopper available as they have a great range of clothes. Not so bad if not - DH has a good eye for what suits me and is brutally honest I'm half looking forward to shopping with him and half dreading it!

Georgina - I feel the same as you about Zara. I have a navy blazer from there which is great but otherwise it never seems to look that good. I live in hope!
