Jeans for flabby belly

Can anyone recommend some flattering jeans for autumn? I am 5 foot 7, a size 16-18 and apple shaped with a very flabby belly since having DS. I think I need something fairly high-waisted to help disguise the midriff. Pre-DS (and 3 stone lighter) I used to wear skinny jeans, but I'm not sure I can pull them off these days - I'm in danger of looking like an apple balanced on two matchsticks! But boot cut just looks frumpy, to my eye. What cut should I be looking for? I don't want to spend to much, up to about £70, as I'm hoping to lose the weight. Any suggestions?

I'm an apple and I wear slim or skinny jeans. I wear tunics or loose fitting tops with the skinnies.

I'm trying to lose weight so don't want to spend too much money. Dorothy Perkins have various styles for £15 each or 2 for £25.

I've just bought jeans from Asda if all places!! I'm same height and the long perfect (most long not long enough) great bum and tum jeans £18!! They smooth everything and I don't have muffin top in these jeans!! I didn't wZnt to spend much until I get back to my normal size these are perfect! Great for weird shape I am now as had c section fir dc3 though hoping that improves apparently not I bought 14 true to size I'd say Grin

Thanks for the advice, I'll have a look in both of those places. I am also a very weird shape, with slim-ish arms and legs and a huge tummy. Confused

Being apple shaped, I tend to find jeans that fit on my my waist are baggy on my thighs & bum. I've always had this problem to some extent, and used to get around it by wearing hipster jeans, but with the post-baby belly hipster is not a good look, plus the tops of them rub on my C/S scar!

I got some great jeggings recently in M&S which come up high, to wear after my c section. They hold your tummy in nicely too.

I'm 5'7 size 14/16 with a tummy and I wear a lot of Hudson jeans.
They are silly money in Selfridges but can be found for under £70 online.

They are very generous waist sizes, I'm wearing the Beth baby bootcuts in a 31, so I'd think you could try a 32 waist.

I've had some recently from the sale at The dressing room and Yoox.
Yoox had some for 50 ish last week.

If you do try the Hudsons, don't be put off if they're tight at first, they do give quite a bit and loosen up.

7 For All Mankind. They are miracle jeans. High enough on the waist but not too high, fit beautifully to your figure and are so comfortable. I cannot recommend them enough.

TheSmallPrint · 09/09/2013 13:08

Just went to their website Greetings - £200??! Blimey, they would need to be perfect and last forever for me to spend that on a pair of jeans. Shock

ParvatiTheWitch · 09/09/2013 13:15

I can second the Adsa great bum and tum jeans. They have them in skinny, boot cut and straight, I have one pair and am going to get another pair or two....

i'm in the same boat and the Levi's Curve range do a specific jeans design with some kind of black magic woven in to the tummy that sucks in big tums like mine without being like spanx. they're life changing, i swear! i got mine in the states for about £20 on special offer but you can get them here from the levi's store or - i think - asos. Try ordering off the Macy's site too cos you might get a really great exchange rate (plus Macy's always has sales on), just beware any import duty you may have to pay.

thelittlestpickle · 09/09/2013 13:24

also, go to tk maxx and try the 7 For All Mankinds - they always have loads in there and some have worked for me although nothing has beaten the Levi's yet.

Noy Your Daughter's Jeans (NYDJ) are supposed to be excellent but are expensive.

Asda Bum and Tum are well known as a cheaper option. Can't tell you if they are good or not as I have just bought my first pair, not worn them yet
