Camel toe confusion

Snoot · 06/09/2013 13:12

I am struggling to find trousers that don't reveal a hint of camel toe, does anyone else have this problem? I try on bigger sizes that gape unflatteringly elsewhere but there it still is, winking at me! I'm wondering if I'm unusually plump in that area and ought to just stick to skirts Confused

Are you just pulling them up too high?

Snoot · 06/09/2013 13:23

Maybe I am! Also maybe I'm staring too hard and it's not really that noticeable? I can see it though :(. I'm going to give it another go! I'm now concerned that I'll be peering at other women in town to see how they look. I really ought to get a job or something and stop overanalysing everything!

What undercrackers are you wearing?

I like the M&S Trouser Pants (not snug but cut nice and no VPL IIRC £8 a pair Shock)
If I'm wearing leggings though I wear a pair that are more 'support' . Higher elastane, more stertch and if you get the right size, no muffin top , no VPL or camel toe.

scrazy · 06/09/2013 13:36

Ahem, I have a theory that a ct is visible when the nether regions are hairless. Try growing in out Grin.

scrazy · 06/09/2013 13:37

'it' not in

Snoot · 06/09/2013 13:37

Oh wow, you see, I had no idea there were such things as trouser pants! Just goes to show you don't know what you don't know! I tend to wear M&S cotton thongs, from the multipacks, classy, I know! Perhaps they don't have enough substance to them?

Snoot · 06/09/2013 13:39

scrazy I think you might me right. I didn't used to have this problem. Problem there being that DH is more attentive without IYSWIM Blush

I have it with some jeans and not others. I buy jeans to fit my bottom/thigh area, but generally they are a bit loose around my upper hip/waist area and for that reason I think the fabric hasn't got anything to cling to and falls a bit giving a camel toe. My tend to cove mine with a slightly longer top or sweater.

Faerieinatoadstool · 06/09/2013 14:19

The trouser pants thing makes a difference. I used to have some sort of voile type material ones but they gave me a ridiculously itchy bum so I chucked them

bishboschone · 06/09/2013 14:23

Are you apple shaped ? I think it's more noticeable in apples because the tummy pulls the crotch area. Or you are pulling them up to tight. Try some high waist trousers.

practicality · 06/09/2013 14:32

High waisted is your friend. You need more in the rise. as you are probably short waisted.

Snoot · 06/09/2013 14:34

I am more of a pear shape really, in fact I'm currently rocking some size 14 M&S high waisted jeans, I've lost weight and they're baggy in the tummy area but I'm still having to tweak at the legs to stop the old hungry crotch! Oh the glamour! I need new, smaller, trousers which stay put! I'll look up the trouser pants once I've finished shuffling around Sainsbury's Grin

OP posts:
Snoot · 06/09/2013 15:08

Short waisted! Thank you practicality, I've never heard that term before, I've just googled it and, yes, I think I am! It would go along with my general pearshapedness as well. This explains the gaping tummy side-bags and cruelly cutting seam in my too-big jeans, I think loss of weight has slimmed my hips, stopping the pressure keeping the waist band lower and allowing it to shoot up towards my natural waist, does that make sense?

OP posts:
Screwfox · 06/09/2013 17:01

You're buying them too small

Snoot · 06/09/2013 18:15

Lol, yes, certainly too small somewhere!

I found this which makes a lot of sense, I think I'm a Bell which specifically needs a long inseam. This thread has been a real education, thank you very much everyone Smile

OMG I have never checked. I really hope I am not flashing each time I go out Blush. Maybe that is why no one talks to me Shock.

Bunbaker · 06/09/2013 18:26

I don't understand why anyone gets camel toe as I don't get it. I am pear shaped as well so my trousers/jeans always slide down a little.

"You need more in the rise. as you are probably short waisted"

Don't you mean high waisted? Short waisted to me means that the crotch is very short, so a pair of high waisted trousers would be too long in the crotch and slip down and eliminate the CT effect.

Mintyy · 06/09/2013 18:30

I don't really get all the outrage about a hint of camel toe. Its just the way a woman's body is. No need to get all coy/disgusted about it.

Bunbaker · 06/09/2013 18:34

I don't find it outrageous, just unattractive.

Snoot · 06/09/2013 19:45

I think, from my recent education Smile that short waisted refers to your body and a short rise to trousers.

OP posts:
Snoot · 06/09/2013 19:48

So short waisted means that you are long legged, short of body or more specifically shorter shoulder to waist than waist to crotch.

OP posts:
Screwfox · 06/09/2013 19:50

Yup. I'm that. Gap are good. Other trousers are so long in the body they do up under my bust

SlobAtHome · 06/09/2013 20:31

Why not get a camel toe guard? then you really dont have to worry about it at all.

I am plump in that area. Never really check to see if I walk around with a CT Shock... ah well

Snoot · 06/09/2013 22:22

I think you'd notice Slob, it's rather uncomfortable!
