sports bra for big breasts?

This may not be in the best forum as my look when running is not exactly stylish, far less beautiful, but I know I have seen Mumsnetters swear by a particular brand of sports bra that was good for the large-breasted...?

I am about to start Couch to 5K and need something heavy duty.

Thank you!

There are a few that people rave about on here. Freya Active Underwired, Enell, Panache, Shock Absorber.

I would also be interested in this. I would love to take up jogging but over the years have never found a sports bra that is up to the job for a large breasted woman.

I think Shock Absorber was the one whose name I had retained - thanks, Sorrel. Unfortunately, I am a non-driver living in the deep countryside, so anything I buy has to be online, which I'm a bit dubious about in this case...

I recently bought the Panache 83% less bounce bra. It's good.....not sure if I'm bouncing 83% less but it's certainly better than the M&S one I had before!!

I am a 30gg. I love the shock absorber one, but they have different levels of impact don't they so I go for the most supportive one. I haven't brought one for a while but I found actually going down a cup size (since mine didn't have wires this wasn't such a problem) made it more supportive. But I think you just have to try on a few to get the best fit.

DriedFrogPill · 05/09/2013 14:27

I've got a Shock Absorber, the high impact nothing will move type, and it is absolutely brilliant. While I was positive that I wouldn't find one to fit (38HH) and stop the girls bouncing about, I was totally wrong. It is also really comfortable, and my breasts hardly move when I`m exercising, with the added bonus that it acts like a chestguard when I'm doing archery. Really recommend it.

I will only run in my Enell. It keeps absolutely everything still. I use the panache and Freya for gym sessions, but they aren't as sturdy as the Enell is so don't work so much for running. As for the shock absorbers - I chafed so bad from one in a half marathon I bled. I'm very prejudiced against them now.

I like Freya Active Underwired & Shock Absorber - but not the ones that have a racer back as I am broad of back as well as large of nork & they won't meet in the middle!

Best of luck with C25K - I just graduated & it's been an amazing journey. I found both the above bras hold my girls perfectly in place for running.

I know its against the Mumsnet grain but I bought a 2 pack from Marks and Spencers yesterday.

They were £30 ish, non wired, and 'extra firm' hold.

I did a pretty high intensity class today, lots of jumping and running and for the first time in a long time I didnt notice my boobs moving seconds after i'd stopped.

I usually wear a G or GG but I went down to an F in these and I suppose the beauty of Marks is you can always try them on!
