I'd prefer liquid foundation, medium coverage. Can you recommend any you've used please?

Thanks

I've used loads over the years: Chanel Vital Lumiere, Dior Nude etc but I have to say I'm back with the first one I ever used 20 years ago, Clinique Perfectly Balanced. Had the most 'you look so radiant' compliments in ages!

Applied with a brush though, it really is lovely.

I had this exact thought recently, when I realised I wasn't fooling anyone with this BB cream malarky - i ended up splashing out on the Armani Luminous Silk Foundation from Selfridges.

Nice and light, but buildable over problem areas, like my rosacea prone bits. And the make-up artist on the counter was very nice and low sales pressure.

You need either Laura Mercier Crème Silk or Liz Earle Signature foundation. I have tried ALL of them and these two are the absolute best.

Thanks - that gives me a good starting point.

I made a note ages ago that Sali Hughes recommended Lancome Teint Visionnaire. Have any of you tried it?

I've tried quite a few (though not the lancome one) and think that Chanel vitalumiere is the best. Good coverage whilst still looking fresh faced and radiant.

Also try Trish McEvoy Even Skin. Very light, excellent range of shades, easy to apply with fingers or damp sponge.

Depends a lot on what type of skin you have though. I'm 38 and still as oily as I was 20 years ago. None of the mentioned foundations work for me, as they slide off my face. But if you have dry or normal skin, ignore me!

The Lancôme Visionnaire foundation is lovely. It looks very natural and glowy but good buildable cover, especially as it comes with a matching concealer in the lid. Also, it contains something like 20% of the Visionnaire serum which has a brightening effect on the skin with long term use.

It's currently one of my favorites. I definitely prefer it to Vitalumiere, which I've used for years. It seems to have slightly better staying power than the Touche Éclat foundation too (although that is also lovely).

I've must discovered botanics bb cream-utterly amazing and I've tried everything !

valiumredhead · 06/09/2013 09:50

Just not must
