I hate hate hate bras

I am large of nork - size 10 and a 32F. I have been measured by everyone it seems - Bravissimo, Rigby & Peller - I always end up spending £££ on beautiful bras which make me look fabulous (ish) but have me wanting to tear everyone's head off by the end of the day - I ALWAYS end up with red weals under my arms where the wire digs in. The material always itches and has me scratching my boobs in the car park. I long to get home from work just so I can get my bra off. The relief is immense.

I have recently started wearing crop top type bras, can't remember what they're called but my God they feel good. Not much support (a little) but they feel lovely.

But but but, my boobs aren't as pert as they once were and i'm fully aware I look slimmer and better in a decent bra. Is there a middle way wise ones? A bra which doesn't make me foul tempered from 11am onwards? No itchy lace and horrid digging in underwires??

In theory I'd quite like a cropped top thing to wear around the house but I just can't face running up and down the stairs without a bra Grin.

But the OP is looking for a middle ground between a proper bra and a crop top. That's it! It may be worth a try anyway.

Absolutely.

I have major comfort problems with wires. I am a 30gg. In my teenager days I bombed around wearing a sloggi crop top.... if I did that now after two dc I think I'd take someone's eye out.

I still have the "oh my fucking god get this bra off me" end of day feeling now... but I do find the bravissimo Alana bra very good. I can't say comfortable because frankly I truly believe all bras that do anything are torture. But yes Alana bra is very okay. And panache tango plunge because the wires don't seem to come up as high as the balcony version.

I am another fan of the porcelain bra too.

Also, although I'm a C and wear a medium Bravado bra, when I was pg I was cup size EE, and the large fitted me fine. So I'm thinking XL would be fine for an F.

Fantasie bras are better than Freya imo.

Particularly the Helena bra. Try ebay, i get mine there.

I hate wearing a bra. When I was young I often didnt wear one or wore stretchy crop top style ones from Charnos back in the 1980s. I was a 32 A back then!

Now I am now a 34c cup and still could get away with to wearing one except my nipples are more prominent or perhaps when I was young it didn't bother me but no way now I am old can I have sticking out nips! Ha ha

As soon as I am home I take my bra off.

In hot weather I spray anti perspirant under my boobs and I often use talcum powder to dust down before wearing a bra and find that makes wearing a bra a bit nicer.

Yes but a F on a 28 band is considerably smaller than an F on a 36 band. OP is a 32F, so not huge really, but someone who was a 36F is going to struggle in one of these.

OP, have you tried masquerade or fauve or even the CK showgirl range?

SorrelForbes · 03/09/2013 22:56

Sunday, are you sure you're a 34C?

SorrelForbes · 03/09/2013 22:57

Fairylea - have you tried the Cleo Juna?

Fairylea · 03/09/2013 23:03

Thanks, I'm adding the Cleo juna to my list!

Lacy bras make my nipples itch. Hate them with a passion. Particularly hate Bravissimo - have never had any success with their bras. And they do them in such weird colours! M&S do a decent moulded cup one in their DD+ range which might be worth a bash - the moulding is not too bulky so my 36E boobage isn't really bulked up any further.

SorrelForbes · 04/09/2013 07:17

I struggle with some Bravissimo bras as they're too shallow for my rather narrow, deep set boobs.

Moulded bras can be good but thy don't suit everyone and people with bread that are heavier on the bottom will often experience gaping at the top of the cup.

jimjamspam · 04/09/2013 08:42

my bread often comes out of the bread maker heavier at the bottom but that's a whole other thread....

What about the non wired deco? Not tried it myself as they don't go to my size, but it looks good in theory here

jimjamspam · 04/09/2013 11:22

thanks - might try some of their soft cup bras - like the sound of them. I had a triumph doreen i wore while pregnant which I loved - DH not so keen
