I am coming out of the other side of a divorce and have completely changed my approach to health, beauty and fashion. I have always had low self esteem, but have lost weight and begun exercising which has made a big difference. Also have realised I am better looking than I always believed; taking a while to get my head round that one!

I am now probably in the best physical shape of my adult life, size 10-12 with a 34DD bust, although still got a tendency to a small pot belly. I have never had 'the knack' when it came to putting outfits together, I had my colours done a few years ago and I am a sort of warm palette (teal, red, browns, navy, coral etc). I am 47 but am told regularly I look about 10 years younger. I would like to start and build a capsule wardrobe, both for home and work. For home I like to wear skinnies and jersey tops, knee length boots or ballet flats. I also like denim skirts, thick tights, knits and knee length boots. For work it's quite a corporate look and I tend to wear trousers more than skirts. I've got my eye on some tan knee length boots from Clarkes and have ordered myself a new denim skirt from m & s, plus am thinking about blazers (possibly jersey although a bit dubious tbh).

I don't have a lot of money to spend but I'm looking for advice on key pieces and colours I should consider to begin my capsule.

Any links to pinterest boards would be really good too. TIA!

Start with nice underwear. Plain for lounging about, nice one for work. Black and skin colour.

Then I would get two dresses for work, two for lunches with girls/family.

A pair of trousers for work and 2-3 shirts/smart tops.
A pair of trousers for weekends with jumpers layered with vests.

Get a pair of happy day off shoes. Flats or whatever you fancy, but they can't be plain boring, they have to have something quirky about them.

Get a plain black dress for the party season coming up. And accessorise it. Find some red or green necklaces, play with colour and size of necklaces/earrings.

Get two cashmere jumpers. Don't buy any other jumper, just two really nice quality v-necks. I suit gray with a white shirt underneath for example. I also have a very old black oversized one for weekends.

Cashmere leggings!!!! Sounds decadent and so on but they are warm and gorgeous and I will be living in mine.

A funky warm skirt that matches the jumpers and the tops you have.

A scarf in a bright colour to liven up your winter coat.

Have fun!
