Currently 14 weeks pregnant. It's a second pregnancy and boobs no where near as sore as first time and I've been in pre pregnancy 32G. These are now too tight, especially round the band.

I'm thinking I need a 34G as I expect cup needs to be slightly larger too?

Here's the thing..... I love Freya and Panache bras but don't really want to pay £30+ each as I won't be in them long before I either increase again or accept the horror that is maternity bras.... Any ideas of cheaper brands I could try please?

Im quite similar to you - at 8 weeks I was measured at 34gg (up from 32g) at bravissimo. I got one panache bra and one bravissimo branded one.

At 26 weeks I had grown again and got 2 bravissimo branded ones this time. They're better than they used to be, and more like £25 than £30++.

Maybe you could be fitted for one and then buy other online or via eBay?

I've put the ones I've outgrown to one side hoping I'll shrink back into them after birth.

I don't trust the cheaper brands to hold their shape, or hold me in place!

treaclesoda · 31/08/2013 18:15

I'm the same size as you and when pg, I got, to my utter amazement, non wired bras in M&S in a 34g which were very comfortable, and something like £22 for two. (Would be a 32g when not pg.)

SorrelForbes · 31/08/2013 18:44

Bear in mind that M&S do not do a FF or a GG so their G is really an FF.

treaclesoda · 31/08/2013 18:51

I didn't realise that! Years of knowing that m&s don't do my size meant that I've never paid them much attention, I suppose.

Presumably I didn't get any bigger in the boob then, just in the ribcage area.

I got Miriam Stoppard ones in Debenhams too, but they were really a bit too small, and G was the biggest cup size.

PastaBeeandCheese · 31/08/2013 19:09

So sorrel I would be an H ShockShockShock I'll have to cut the label out to flatter myself I think.

I'll check out Marks but definitely don't want non wire. I breastfed for a year and hope to do the same again. I hated the bras so am putting off coming out of wires as long as I possibly can.

treacle The cup in a 34G is bigger than the cup in a 32G so your boobs would have grown too.

AnythingNotEverything · 31/08/2013 19:14

I'm 34 weeks and now wearing a J cup underwire - you may yet grow in the cup too! Still really comfy but so worried about nursing bras.

MotherOfNations · 31/08/2013 19:15

I have a similar dilema regarding nursing bras right now. All the ones I like are so expensive and I'm reluctant to spend the money on them if my size changes once milk comes in.

piratecat · 31/08/2013 19:16

ebay is the best place to get the better brands but cheaper. Fantasie is my fave.

Sounds like you need a 34ff ( for the same cup as your 32g) or a 34g as you said if your cup is bigger.

this is the most comfy bra in the world by fantasie the Helena

I know it's £25, but it's got the sort of lace that will give a little too, and i think it would last you well this side of expecting and later on too after. hth

PastaBeeandCheese · 31/08/2013 19:17

anything check out Anita underwired nursing bras. They are the best of a bad bunch. Still not like the scaffolding I normally favour but far, far better than the Mothercare offers.

PastaBeeandCheese · 31/08/2013 19:19

piratecat thank you for that. The Helana looks nice. It's the same price at Figleaves with easier returns.

But if the g cup in M&S is equivalent to an ff elsewhere then it isn't a cup size bigger than my usual size

SorrelForbes · 31/08/2013 19:27

I don't know, I'm confused Grin. M&S miss out the FF and GG entirely so if you needed a G in a Freya then I'd guess you could try a H in M&S? Their sizing is atrocious tbh, no quality control. Some of their 28" bands only measure 25" stretched.

piratecat · 31/08/2013 19:34

pasta that's good, go for the balcony though, better shape than the full cup. I love this bra.

piratecat · 31/08/2013 19:35

would second anita nursing bras also.

MotherOfNations · 31/08/2013 19:35

Sorry treacle I reread your post and realise you were taking account of the absence of ffs in m&s.
I blame baby brain.

AnythingNotEverything · 31/08/2013 19:35

Thanks Pasta - I have no intention of even trying anything at Mothercare!

I was hoping to get one at bravissimo once I get to 38 weeks and then will head back out once baby is 3-4 weeks and see where I'm at then. Such a nightmare, but I do love my boobs Wink

MotherofNations Grin

I realise my reply sounded a bit curt, it was only after it was posted that I realised how snappy it sounded. Sorry.

MotherOfNations · 31/08/2013 20:32

No need for apologies treacle It's me who can't read posts properly.
