Recommendations for orthodontist?

I am seriously considering getting my teeth straightened. I had a brace as a child but with no retainer they are overcrowded again and I would love to sort them out.

I live in East London and wondered if anyone could recommend someone they were pleased with? I know it will cost £££ and would hate to get it wrong.

Thanks

I can't recommend any orthodontist Sorry, however there is a brilliant method of straightening teeth around at the minute. It's called invisalign, really quick results-average 4months.
if you look on the website they will had a list of orthodontists that use the system and you may have a local practice to you that uses them.

Good luck

Thank you. I have heard of invisalign.

I want to go to someone that will give me all the options and who will do a good job.

I have booked in somewhere locally, but would love to go somewhere knowing they could be trusted etc.

Have a look in the British Orthodontic society website. I think they have listing of all the specialist orthodontists. Inman is a quick fix that no one knows the long term results of as it a relatively new to the market. I would be wary Shock

thanks,it's better now :)

I've done hundreds of Inman cases in the last 2 years, it's relatively new in Britain but has been used in America for many many years. It's not a "quick fix" it's gets the same results as other orthodontic appliances just quicker as it's worn almost 24 hours a day and is turned-tightens every 3 or so days.

you wil have to have retention after your treatment is finijes either by having a wire placed behind the teeth you have moved to keep them there or a removable retainer that will be worn at night.

All orthodontic treatment require retention as teeth "remember" is you like where they started.

It's around £1200 per arch so not cheap but not breaking the bank amounts.

www.inmanaligner.com/

have a look, the results speak for themselves.

However depending on your needs Inman may not be suitable for you.

I had a brace as a child. I had teeth out and pushed back as I was a typical goofy kid.

In recent years they have crowded at the front again with my second teeth coming forward in front of my front teeth.

I had no retainer which is why this has happened.

Having looked at Inman it does look interesting.

So do you know anyone in London you can recommend?

not personally no sorry. But there is approx 10 PTA too era in London that are on the Inman site.

Give a few a call and ask if u can go and have look. See if they have any testimonials on there website.

I'm sure you'll find someone :)

Good luck

WannaBeANinja · 01/09/2013 14:09

that was supposed to say practitioner, not all the crap it said instead :)

So everyone who's had a brace requires a retainer for life? I didn't know that.

Hi - I can highly recommend Dr Moira Wong, she is in Notting Hill a consultant orthodontist and offers all types of braces and offers payment plans.
