A off to the hair dresser this afternoon.
I am new,ry 41 and have cropped dyed brown hair.
I started to go grey at 17 and have been dyeing my hair ever since.
I would really like to go grey. But I am worried it wil really age me. An also worried I didn't have the right colouring...I have quite sallow skin and brown eyes and dark eyebrow and eyelashes.
I really don't want to have the alistair darling look!
Wwyd?

I am in a similar boat - 41 years old, and started going grey in my 20s. My dad has pure white hair so that is where I am heading. I think it looks quite cool on my Dad, but I think the in-between grey would be very aging on me, so at the moment get my roots done every 4 weeks, which is a total pain. I think there will come a time when I will embrace it, but I just think it is too soon for me at the moment.
I think the 'Alistair Darling' look is ok though - it makes the grey hair look more striking I think, so if you feel like you are ready...

It's a lot less hassle once you bite the bullet and stop dying it.

Stopping dying your hair is a bit like giving up smoking - you have some aborted attempts and then you figure it's a waste of time and money.

Start looking at women who don't dye there hair and see how subtle the colours can be and how on the whole it suits them.

I used to have dark brown hair but since its gone grey I am now blonde. Root regrowth is much less noticeable and it's flattering to older skin too. And I love being blonde!!
