High(ish)-end moisturiser with SPF

Today I spent far too long wandering about the makeup section looking at the naice brands of moisturiser (Estée Lauder, Shiseido, Kiehls and the like) and wondering why so few seemed to have a good moisturiser including SPF for oilyish, ageing-ish skin. I've been given a gift voucher to spend and wanted to upgrade on my usual
Olay one, but am so confused!

Quite a few of the saleswomen suggested using moisturiser and then an SPF, but frankly I am lucky if I manage any of these steps of a morning, less complication is better Smile

Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser spf 20. Lovely £33

Why do you believe that expensive moisturiser is better? The most expensive moisturiser I have ever used was Virgin Vie and it wasn't any better than any other I have tried, and I have good skin and look younger than my years.

I have the Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturiser with spf 20, and it's great. But it does have a comment saying: "Perfect for all skin types, Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer SPF 20 provides oil free protection from harmful rays of the sun**."
And then: "** Does not replace the use of sun products in case of sun exposure."

I admit that English isn't my mothertongue, so I might have misunderstood something. But I don't rely on that as my sunscreen. I use Clinique City Block instead for days when not out in the sun. It has SPF 25, but you can get higher. I really like the City Block.
For days when out in the sun more, I use a proper sunscreen.

Also, the tinted moisturiser from LM is tinted - so is like a light foundation.

I think they don't tend to have them in as they're not very effective as part of a moisturiser and really you need a separate suncream.

Thank you, and at least I know that I wasn't missing anything obvious! For days out or when overseas I would always wear an extra SPF, but for walking to work in sunny autumnal London (ha) it feels a bit OTT. Will check out the Laura Mercier one, maybe I actually need a tinted moisturiser/ BB cream. That also cuts out yet another step in the morning, yay!

walk around and get a few testers before you buy. :)
Laura mercier broke me out, but so many people i know love it. city block went on abit whiteish. I ended up getting the no7 dark spot spf.

Sunsense do a really nice matt tinted facial sunblock. John Lewis stock it - I just use that and a spot of powder most days. It also has AHAs so marketed as anti aging - and good on my v sensitive skin.

I really like the Avene moisturisers with SPF. The light hydrating one is my current favourite.
