Might need to replace the brilliant ecco boots I've had for six years. Ecco don't seem to make such bouncy ones any more. They are as comfortably bouncy as my asics trainers. Prepared to spend ££ for the right ones that will last.

Reading this back, I think bouncy is key Smile

Like the equestrian ones alot too. That might be a good area. But can you walk the bejeezers out of them? I will be going nowhere on a horsey.

Clarks Goretex are great - I got some lovely ones last year - they were selling on ebay really cheaply a while back - have a look. Very bouncy, pretty stylish and waterproof - good prices on ebay too

Yes cos they're yard boots. Have checked with my horse owning sister. They're lush and imply posh hobbies.

I have Ariat horsey boots. I am not remotely horsey, but they are completely waterproof, good solid soles and spongy to walk in. I wore them for 6 months solid until the weather got too warm for them. Sorry can't link on my tablet

I am on PC now, here is a link to some Ariat boots. I have the windemere which are not the smartest, but great to wear. The Trent and Coniston are lovely. These boots were highly recommended by my local countryside shop. In fact they recommended them over the Dubarry boots, which are the boot of choice in the country.

I have these Sherwood Furlong boots very bouncy and sturdy for walking in. Plus have a zip up the back to get my fat calves in with thick socks on. But it's still all waterproof.
Got them in a horse supply place for about£70 IIRC

You know, I've looked at the Ecco boots mentioned in my OP and they are couldn't be in finer fettle for six year old footwear. I must move away from the bouncy boots and file this thread somewhere for 2020 when they do actually NEED replacing.

Oooh can we please keep this discussion flowing even tho OP has decided against new boots, I desperately want a pair of comfortable walking boots with a modicum of style for school run.

I have full on massive snow boots from lands end but the look stupid in anything but the worst rain / mud / snow.

I need something for the other 200 days of autumn / winter / spring Wink

Was thinking the Merrell boots get good reviews but the Provost isn't me, the Oslo are bit too arctic looking, same goes for the Yarra. I'm strangely taken by the Dr Martin boots, never been a Dr Martin kinda gal but they seem to fit the bill

blast just realised computer has shut all my windows of research... bah.

Further suggestions for bouncy, walkable, slightly stylish boots with grip would be ace Grin

I would like some boots that are waterproof but more smart casual than wellies, and warm but less moonbooty than snowboots. Do such things exist?

loler I really am teetering on the edge of the Dr Marten one's, in brown probably... any comments on sizing? I'm usually a 6.5 but they seem to do whole sizes, so need to go up or down depending how they size (come up large / small)
