just wondered if it was worth buying any creams or just ignore - I've got two of them, fairly noticeable but I just use concealer when I can be arsed but if there's something that works I'd love to know

ps I don't want a cream to use over my whole face though, just the spots themselves IYSWIM

Watching with interest, have odd pigmentation from spots (and dreadful skin at the mo as I enter the perimenopause now, thanks for that) so would love something that works

Clinique dark spot corrector worked for me. I needed to use it twice a day last winter. Now I have a ran again, and am hoping for the best this winter.

I've just recently started using this nivea and it does seem to helping them to fade.

For sunspots/freckles et al, you need something that increases the turnover of cells in your skin. So, something like a moisturiser with glycolic acid, or salicylic acid, or a few glycolic facials. I'm not sure what the percentage of active ingredient in the Clinique stuff, but that would work. I do think it would be hard to just apply it to the freckle/patch, your skin would look more even with all-over application.
Retin A is great for this also. But it's only Internet or doctor prescribed.
And high SPF to prevent any further ones developing.

AnaisB · 26/08/2013 09:53

I've used the clinique one and it definately worked. At first i just used it on the local area, but the results were better when i used it all over. I've also started using the number 7 at-home peel and my skin is definately improving.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2013 14:58

I'm using retin a 0.1% which is the strongest available. I started out with 0.025 then 0.05%.

I've got 3 left out of 7 under my eye. They just vanish.

You HAVE to follow all the instructions, you must wear a proper sunscreen, none of this "contains spf15" rubbish but a proper SPF 30 or above sunblock.

SunnyUpNorth · 26/08/2013 15:23

I haven't used it but I think I have read that pepta bright by indeed laboratories is supposed to be good. I have been using the hydraluron from that range as recommended by the blogger Caroline Hirons. I am sure I have seen that stuff mentioned on her site.

When I bought my hydraluron a couple of weeks ago the whole range was a third off in boots....not sure if it still is.

SunnyUpNorth · 26/08/2013 15:24

ooh yes still a third off!

squoosh · 26/08/2013 16:23

Rosehip oil contains natural retinol and is good for sun damaged skin. The Trilogy one is good.

lurkingaround · 26/08/2013 18:05

Are you tolerating the 0.1% Fluffy?
I'm delighted as I'm now tolerating the 0.05%

FoxyHarlow123 · 26/08/2013 19:11

Obagi nu derm.

thestoker · 26/08/2013 19:22

AnaisB Which Number 7 one are you using? I can only see this micro-dermabrasion one, is that the right one? www.boots.com/en/No7-Total-Renewal-Micro-dermabrasion-Face-Exfoliator_1259471/

I have saved up enought Boots point to get the Pepta Bright while still on offer but still umming and ahing over whether it's the best one.

Stoker - sorry for the delayed response. It's not the microdermabrasion one. It's called an "at home peel" and it's new, but i can't link on my phone. It is on the web-site and in store.
