Mulberry bag ruined?

My mulberry leather bag was dropped in a puddle by my DC. It has a tide mark - can I fix it or is it ruined? Hmm

There's a company that's been mentioned on here who can fix things like that. I can't remember the name though, sorry.
You could ask on the purse forum, they'll know.

It's these guys:

I reckon sending it away is your only hope. I daren't take my Mulberries in the rain for similar reasons!

What sort of leather is it?

I steam cleaned a goatskin one (v soft and delicate) after can of diet coke burst inside it

I was willing to take the risk and it was fine. Not sure I'd advise it if it's very precious to you

Have you looked in the purseforum? They know everything about leathers and bags

Also Y'know I think lots of bags look better worn in
I've got an old oak Darwin Elgin and the more battered it gets the better it looks

What leather is it? I'd also recommend looking on the purse forum. I think someone on there got a water stain on their bag and to make it blend in they effectively covered/dunked all of the bag in water so it was an even colour again.

Once upon a time a bottle of diet coke exploded in my oak Roxanne. Pad it out with tissue paper as much as you can and wait for it to dry. Don't use a hair dryer or anything like that on it. I ended up dabbing at the water mark and then repeating several times. It eventually faded into the bag's patina and probably looks better than it did.

The furniture clinic is a good call though - less hassle than doing it yourself and they'll get better results.

Great advice, thanks all. Is the purse forum in the style and beauty section?

Agree with other posters - if the bag is a brown Mulberry leather it's prob not ruined. I have an oak Roxy that's had a LOT of abuse like dietcoke! and looks all the better for it. I would leave it for a week, minimum, and see how it dries.

I have a light oak coloured Mulberry. I spilt half a cup of coffee on itSad.

I wiped the coffee up. Then sprayed a small amount of Method cleaner on it.[Blush]. I then wiped the whole bag down with a clean wet cloth.

It came up looking like new. It looks like nothing's ever happened to it.

By the way I'm recommending you of what I did, but it did work.
