I have been bunging in washing machine but apparently this is wrong. Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks

Hand-washing, no fabric softner. Then squeeze out excess water and dry ontop of a clean towel (in winter) or outside in summer.

When mine get a few months old I start to hand wash then machine rinse them very slow in a mesh bag (folded over in the bag so that the wires don't distort).

After a while i put them in the wash on a delicate cycle in the bag.

I wash mine by hand. I am a weird size (32GG/H) so I have to spend £££ on them and even then a good fit is hard to find, so I prepared to spend a bit of time on maintenance.

I wear them 1 or 2 times make and then swoosh them in a bit of non bio liquid in the sink, rinse then hang out (or do what ygritte says in winter).

I had one come to bits once in the machine, odd dust everywhere, never again!

Clary · 23/08/2013 20:43

1 or 2 times max sorry have had a glass of wine!

Washing machine in a net laundry bag. No fabric conditioner. Air dry.

badguider · 23/08/2013 20:48

I feel life is too short for handwashing and bung mine in the machine on a relatively gentle 40deg wash.
I have a net laundry bag but am often too lazy to use it. Ideally I would though.
Air dry (don't have a tumble dryer).

SundaySimmons · 23/08/2013 20:50

Hand wash setting in machine. 30 degrees. Air dry.

Any delicate ones input inside a pillowcase.

TerribleTantrums · 23/08/2013 20:58

I do them on a delicates wash in a net laundry bag and they always come out ok. Mine are very well made though, so I've never had any trouble with seams unpicking or underwire poking out.

mysteryfairy · 23/08/2013 21:01

Bung them in the washing machine and be resigned to replacing them frequently is what I do! Life is too short to be hand washing bras. I don't tumble dry them though; that's my concession to treating them with respect.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 23/08/2013 21:01

I do as Clary describes. I'm also buxom and spend £££ at Bravissimo.

I have 5 or 6 decent bras so tend to do a handwash once a week. It's not that onerous.

MarianForrester · 23/08/2013 21:02

Hand wash cycle, delicates liquid, so far so good

Notfootball · 23/08/2013 21:08

I handwash too but only after having a reasonably priced bra become a very expensive one when the wire came out and completely destroyed my washing machine.

Clary · 23/08/2013 21:53

{grin] rhinestonecowgirl buxomness is the way forward!

I agree it takes me about five mins on a Saturday morning.

Clary · 23/08/2013 21:53

oh pooh Grin I meant

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/08/2013 22:49

I do exactly as badguider does

TrucksAndDinosaurs · 23/08/2013 23:22

Thank you all. I could try inside a mesh bag inside a pillowcase I guess, have a USA style washing machine which can be a bit savage but endless hand washing sounds grim...otoh bras where I live are pricey and hard to source.

Into the washing machine into the middle of all my clothes. I buy Sainsburys lace in the packet £6.00 bras and no wires have every come out.

Fairylea · 23/08/2013 23:28

I'm a 30gg and spend loads on bras mainly from bravissimo... I'm a lazy sod and I always just bung them in the main wash with all my clothes. No problems as yet!

TheYamiOfYawn · 23/08/2013 23:48

I usually wash mine in the machine, but I handwash the cream lacy one by taking it into the shower with me and washing it there.

BikeRunSki · 24/08/2013 06:42

I also do mine in tfe shower. Well wash in sink and hang on shower to rinse, then drip dry.
