In the mallard shade? I know it's short but so am I so I'd hope it wouldn't look too boxy. I'm a size 10 and 5ft3. I am concerned it might be itchy. Does anyone know if it is? I just fell in love with the colour and thought it could looked nice styled well for winter. I'm 38 if that matters. Thanks! :)

It's a lovely jumper, but I have not very fond memories of its itchiness from the 80s.

I have a mohair jumper and it is fine with something under it.

Mohair makes me smell Blush.

Really terrible memories of being a teenager and being forced to wear mohair jumpers that my mum knitted (she was not much of a domestic goddess, and as knitting was the one thing she could do, I was torturedforced to wear her "creations"). Might just have been the yarns she chose, but it really put me off mohair for life.

It looks pretty but I have a 'thing' about mohair. It makes me feel weirdly claustrophobic.

Mohair just reminds me of the punk shop 'Nasty' in Southend on Sea in 1970s/80s. Lots of mohair and people that had B.O :(

It's itchy, and looks better on the animal than it does on humans!

There used to be an ebayer called Isobel and she was the mohairknitter and used to make mohair balaclava's and er full body suits!

I love mohair and it seems (to me anyway) a bit more robust than cashmere. It's very warm, and I find the idea of thick itchy-ness weirdly comforting when it's very cold - I have a Brora thick Shetland cardigan that's rough as anything but I love it. I always wear long sleeved tops under though, so wool isn't touching my skin anywhere. Also don't need to wash them much (or ever) if not worn next to the skin, I guess that's why cashmere doesn't last well for me.

My all time favourite jumper is a orange/spice coloured mohair one from fillipa k, bought last year on another mumsnetter's rec. I love it and can't wait to wear it again.

Kezztrel · 22/08/2013 15:25

It's so FLUFFY!!!

Hopefully · 22/08/2013 16:02

I really like it! As long as you're not an itchy person, iykwim.

Jakadaal · 22/08/2013 16:16

Love it and it makes me want to get my knitting needles out Grin

SofaCanary · 22/08/2013 16:31

I can't resist a fluffy jumpy, they look so damn cosy!

missbopeep · 22/08/2013 16:46

It's nice but in the cold weather I can't stand cropped- need long to cover my hips.

SofaCanary · 22/08/2013 17:02

It's made for layering I should imagine, so hips will presumably be covered by whatever you choose to wear underneath.
