Conditioner for 20mo

DD's hair is quite curly and it's becoming a bit of a battle trying to comb it. I put a tiny splodge if my redken conditioner on her hair and it is easier to manage, but I think I should use something a bit more toddler-friendly and cheaper!

Or is she just too little?

I think L'oreal do conditioners for children. I'm pretty sure my sister uses them for my niece and that they are fruit scented

MrsBungle · 18/08/2013 21:59

I put conditioner on my dd. either johnsons pink one or sometimes the l'oreal.

The johnsons one must be very mild as I once used it and it did nothing for my tangled mess!

I've started using tresseme natural conditioner on 2 year old DD's hair. And I only comb it now while wet and covered in conditioner. Her hair is also very curly. It's a lot less frizzy since I started doing this.

I have a spray bottle with a blob of.conditioner in. (herbal essence if thats important), topped up.with water and shaken.

Every morning I.spray her hair and comb it through. Its the.only way to take the bedhead away!

Her hairs sounds like my DD's hair. Alot of the kids branded conditioners are really disgusting scents like strawberry. But I have recently tried the johnsons tangle free range and it is really good. I use the shampoo and conditioner on her in the bath and then I give it a little spritz with the leave in conditioner before combing it in the morning. It helps to separate out the curls and make it less knotty. Plus the smell is quite inoffensive.

we use a silicone free one from h&b.

My DD has curly hair. I have started using the same products that I use on my hair -Tresemme naturals conditioner and then Naked Leave-in conditioner. I didn't find any of the products made for kids were strong enough. Also try not to comb it except when it's got the leave-in conditioner in.

It's made a bit of a difference but it's still quit frizzy. My hair is still frizzy unless I put some kind of gel/curl creme on it, but I feel she is too young (3yo) to use these on her hair.

I put whatever conditioner I happen to have on my DCs hair, but I'm an eco tosser so none of them have nasties in anyway. Currently using Faith by Nature.

If you want to ditch the chemicals but still have nice hair, I really recommend Green People rejuvenating stuff. It's as good as salon brands IMO. That is too expensive for kiddies though.

My dd is 3 and has very curly hair. I have been using the childs farm shampoo and conditioner (you can get it in john Lewis) it contains natural organic ingredients and as little in the way of chemicals as possible. It has really made a difference to dd's hair. I also use the curly wurly shampoo from lush you don't really need conditioner with that as its really conditioning on its own. Smile

I use Johnsons baby conditioner on DD's hair, she is 21 months and I've used this since she was born. Fab stuff.
