Loose everyday waves without damaging hair

I have fine, shoulder length hair with a few layers around the front and a fringe. Can anyone recommend a technique that will enable me to create loose waves for everyday. Must not take long and ideally cause minimal/no damage.

A very loose French braid on 80% dry hair sorts me out. I have almost the same hair as you, except I have lots and lots of fine hair.

I use a texturising spray on the hair, rough dry it, then braid.

The only other way I can think of to do waves without damage is to get some very big foam rollers (the kind you can sleep in).

DSD washes her hair, does three french plaits and leaves it overnight. In the morning she takes the plaits out, runs her hand through her hair and looks like Shakira!

Get it 70% dry using a hair dryer upside down with mouse then scrunch whilst letting it dry itself.

Also if you're in a hurry or dont want to wash your hair you can wet your hair, take 3-4 big sections and twirl them fairly tight til they look like snail shells against your head iykwim.
clip them up, have a cuppa, blow dry them for a few mins, take them out and spritz some wax/ hairspray and voilà!

I put my hair into a bun - tightly twisting the length of the pony tail before pinning. When I let it loose it falls into waves.

Sock bun and sleep with it in (YouTube it).

Thank you all for these great tips.

I've used the sponge rollers from superdrug/ boots for years.

You can either leave them in over night (I find this creates a tighter curl but as long as you take them out first thing in the morning and either brush or finger through, it creates nice wavy hair) I have really long hair so I find my hair drops quite quickly, creating a loose wave.

When it comes to using the rollers, I gather my hair into a pony tail. I then take individual pieces and roll them up using the curlers. The curlers I use have clips so all I do after I roll them is clip them in place voila!

It ends up looking a bit like a bun but I find it better if im going to be doing things around the house or if I have to quickly pop out somewhere before I head out. It doesn't look as silly as have a fully head of curlers!

I find it waves/ curls quicker after I just washed and dried my hair. I wouldn't recommend doing it on wet hair as it takes forever to dry. I've done that before and have slept with them in, but I still woke up to very damp hair!

Whoa that was a long post haha, hope that helps!
