I prefer to avoid black, but which of the above would be best?

I'g go for tan myself, think it would go with more though the oxblood would be a nice change

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2013 16:40

Tan - but I am v fond of tan!

JohnSnowsTie · 16/08/2013 17:02

Would tan go with black tights?

OP posts:
colditz · 16/08/2013 17:04

Blonde or brunette? Tan if blonde, ox blood if brunette.

colditz · 16/08/2013 17:05

No, tan would not go with black tights.

Screw my earlier comment. Buy ox blood. It's a beautiful colour for a foot to be.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2013 17:07

Tan = fine with black tights.

colditz · 16/08/2013 17:08

Er, NO.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2013 17:10

Ignore the silly outfit and just look at the tights and boots

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2013 17:10

Er - yes. :) It's fine. I wear tan and black a lot.

JohnSnowsTie · 16/08/2013 17:27

Arrggh! Am stuck for choice. Really like both... Have tan knee highs (though they are out, yes?) so not sure whether to go for a change but don't want to regret it.

OP posts:
IsItWishfulThinking · 16/08/2013 17:32

Can you buy both?

dexter73 · 16/08/2013 17:32

Going from that link tan boots and black tights don't go very well. I would go for oxblood.

Twinklestein · 16/08/2013 17:35

Def not tan boots with black tights, the pinterest pic is a case in point.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2013 17:43

Oh well. I'll take my deeply unfashionable self away then. :) The pinterest outfit is awful but I still think the boots and black tights are absolutely okay together. I have small feet and skinny legs, so I find that the tan boots balance me out a bit by making my feet look a little bit bigger.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 16/08/2013 19:31

Well I'll join you Remus - Yes to tan boots and black tights!

missbopeep · 16/08/2013 19:54

she's matched the hat belt and boots but I do think black would have looked better. The tan are 'okay' but having just bought black chelsea boots ( and toyed with tan) I'm biased.

Umlauf · 16/08/2013 19:56

I say oxblood, love it! Where are these boots you speak of? I'm looking for my own oxblood ones, the best I've seen are topshop but they are described as "heavy" which worries me, and I'm mail ordering so can't return easily.

N.b. I think tan is a tad light for black tights but dark brown would be a suitable alternative.

buttercrumble · 16/08/2013 20:18

Oxblood for this Aw

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 16/08/2013 20:25

Welcome to the Deeply Unfashionable Booty Club, Bill. Grin

dexter73 · 16/08/2013 20:27

No-one has said it is unfashionable, just that they don't go. Lots of things that don't go are incredibly fashionable.

JohnSnowsTie · 16/08/2013 20:29

If oxblood I'd probably go for Doc Marten ones. So would probably be heavy, Umlauf.

If tan (or maybe now brown) I'd go for the Office Bramble boots.

Umlauf · 16/08/2013 20:36

See I´ve been looking at these but they have a weird lip thing at the front.

Might get these instead but they aren't oxblood which is causing much inner turmoil!

I've hijacked your thread, sorry!

I don't think it's to do with being fashionable or unfashionable, just what each poster would/wouldn´t wear. I love a bit of navy with black, for example, but many of my "fashion" friends balk at the idea.

herecomesthsun · 16/08/2013 20:42

so is oxblood a "thing" now? I got an email from Brora about oxblood ankle boots and this is the second thread I think I've seen on here this week mentioning them!

herecomesthsun · 16/08/2013 20:44

and how is oxblood different from wine or mulberry?

JohnSnowsTie · 16/08/2013 20:49

You haven't Umlauf, the more the merrier!

here I can't answer that, although I find myself wondering if they differ from burgundy... Maybe slightly more red?
