Anyway to improve acne riddled sensitive skin?

My skin was clear as a teenager but from the age of 21 or so it's got steadily worse.
I'm 25 now and i get enormous cysts every month on my chin when i ovulate then smaller white heads all around my chin and jaw when actually on my period. I have maybe 5 days a month where new spots aren't cropping up and it's really getting me down.
I have ibs as well and when that flares up i get a cluster of spots on my left cheek so even my cheeks aren't clear anymore.
I exercise regularly and i eat a healthy diet, i rarely drink and i don't have sugar except in my daily cup of tea.
I tried recently an exfoliating face wash for sensitive skin but it's just made my skin break out even more and i'm sitting here today with sore, spotty skin that even 5 layers of make up can't hide.
Is there ANYTHING i can do to improve my skin? Its really getting me down :(
I'm also prone to eczema around my upper lip and eyes if i don't apply special cream at night. I use a gentle mousterizer in the day before my make up is applied.

Sorry for the essay :(

overthefields I was referred at the same time as getting a prescription for my first course of antibiotics, as the waiting list for a dermatologist was quite long, and my acne very severe.
It was just as well as the antibiotics only helped for a few weeks and then the acne came back just as bad.

I sympathise. I had terrible red lumps on my jawline and neck, congested, manly, grey looking skin which often made me weep in frustration - I was in my 30s FFS! and was so self conscious. Nothing from GP worked and then...,all hail Alpha h & Glycolic. esp liquid gold and the 10% mousturiser.
Bought a starter pack in qvc about 4 years ago and the difference was quick and amazing.

I have endo and ibs, since coming off the pill a few years ago I have struggled with cystic acne, bumps, spotty patches, oily, dehydrated patchy skin.

I find gentle products best and recently went back to dermalogica dermal clay cleanser which is for congested but sensitive skin. I went to the pub with no make up on yesterday

I saw my gp ages ago and he prescribed topical antibiotics but they were fairly hopeless. I am hoping persevering with the dermalogica does the trick ( it has done in the past).

By the way, I also double cleanse, I think it's really important, I use their Precleanse and sometimes a creamy almond soap as a change.

Madam cake, I hadn't taken into account waiting times in different areas. Apologies. Antibiotics did nothing for me or my 2 eldest DSs either. It's bad enough to suffer yourself but to then see your DCs go through it is horrible. I tried everything for 30 years but it was my G.P. ( I had an appt for something else) who said" we can sort your skin out you know" I had been ridiculed by my family for all those years ( my dad thought it was ok to tell me I had dreadful skin and looked like a bomb blast victim)

I am already hoping my dc's don't have to go through it too, overthefields, but the likelihood is they will since it seems to run in the family. One of my DB's and several cousins have been on roaccutane.

So sad for you that dad said that to you. Sad

Severe acne can have terrible psychological sequelae. That's one of the reasons it needs to be taken seriously and treated.
