Facial hair removal - threading?

Hi! I am 37, white with pale (yet freckled) sensitive skin and a whole load of fine blonde downy hair on my upper lip and sides of my face (most of my cheeks really). I'm continuing my quest to find the best hair removal method for my facial hair.

I used to wax but this didn't really work as I need to do my whole face really or it looks like someone has mowed a strip through my cheek. And also a beautician once ripped skin off my cheeks. So that didn't really work.

Recently I've been using hair removal cream but this often aggravates my skin and I'm a bit wary of putting harsh chemicals on my skin.

I wondered if anyone with similar facial hair has tried threading. Does it work for fine, blonde hair? Any side effects?

Shrugged I have the whole range from dark patches to to downy fluff, and I find it pretty effective on all. However, it does take a bit more effort on the coarser bits, and sometimes I use the tweezers on individual awkward ones.

I do find the spring will whip the hairs out when they are very short, much shorter than you would grow them if they were to be waxed or threaded professionally. But you do need to let them peep through a bit or there's nothing to grab.

Wow, thanks mumsnet for telling me about the spring thing - I read this thread the other day and bought one. Tis fab!

I always get pimples after having upper lip threaded, very annoying. Far more painful than eyebrows tooConfused
