Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation v Serum

I usually use No 7 Intelligent Colour Foundation but fancy trying something new.
I've seen the Bourjois Healthy Mix raved about on here but I'm confused as to whether I should get the foundation or serum.
I am in my 40s and have fairly good skin (although I do get the occasional breakout). I would say my skin is normal, if a bit sensitive, although I do get a bit of a greasy t-zone.
Which would you suggest?

I've been looking at trying this too - I think that the serum is for drier skin?

INeedSomeHelp · 10/08/2013 20:26

Anyone else?

The serum is much lighter coverage. More like tinted moisturizer. I really love the foundation. HTH.

whyno is the foundation quite heavy? I prefer something light but probably looking for slightly more coverage that a tinted moisturiser

No, not at all. I find it quite light but a definite foundation. I bought both as I wasn't sure and I just felt that whilst the serum felt lovely, it really didn't give any cover.

That's really helpful thanks. Think it's time to admit that I can't get away with too light a cover anymore!

inneed i tried both, and like the foundation better, good coverage and a little goes a long way,but found it a bit heavy for summer now,so switched to urban decay bb.

the serum makes my skin looks shiny,i think its meant for mature skin, hated it.

peasandlove · 11/08/2013 11:03

both are on special at asos right now

INeedSomeHelp · 11/08/2013 15:47

Hmmm at 43 I could be considered to have mature skin I think!

I much prefer the foundation - the coverage is medium/full depending on how much you build it up, but it always looks very natural. It lasts a long time on the face without separating or transferrring, and doesn't cause me any spots or irritation (which is unusual). The colours are great, also.

InMyShreddies · 11/08/2013 21:22

I haven't tried the foundation but love love love the serum. I have quite good skin, gets quite dry but also a bit congested - it just makes me look v healthy and glowy without looking too made-up. Also it's in nice pale shades. I'm 30 btw.

JustBecauseICan · 12/08/2013 13:50

I really didn't like the health mix serum. It was just like gloopy slimy foundation.

I haven't tried the health mix only, but am planning to.

(I am 47 and dry)

(I can highly recommed Rimmel Wake Me Up though, don't think I will ever buy ££££s foundation again!)

SofaCanary · 12/08/2013 14:16

The serum version seems gives a nice soft finish on my dry skin, I don't need an awful lot of coverage though so it's good for me.

mrsblakey · 12/08/2013 14:36

Whst is the most popular shade for the health mix without the serum ?
I normally go for a nude shade being blue eyed blonde.

JustBecauseICan · 12/08/2013 18:22

I am blue eyed blonde (think Boris Becker/Johnson in the eyelash department) and use 51 which is the lightest, even though in winter I do dobble a bit of Maybelline eraser on top which is lighter as I feel the 51 is a bit too dark still
