Unglooping nail varnish

Does anyone know how I can do this??

Lots of my varnishes have gone thick and gloopy and I'm sure there's still enough in the bottles to save if possible!

Hi

Read in a magazine if you put them in the fridge they thin out again. Not tried it though.

Good luck!

SoulTrain · 09/08/2013 21:48

Put a drop of nail varnish remover in it and shake it.

SirChenjin · 09/08/2013 21:50

Second the drop of nail varnish

SundaySimmons · 09/08/2013 21:51

Two ball bearings.

littlemissnormal · 09/08/2013 21:55

They've already got ball bearings in them haven't they?

I'll try the other 2, thanks! Maybe was the recent heat that affected them.

I always leave my nail polish in the fridge. Another vote for the remover but it can take the shine out of the finish.

internationallove985 · 10/08/2013 20:05

Hi Homeless agatha. Does leaving your nail varnish in the fridge keep them in good condition. I keep mine in my living room and they seem to be going all gloopy could that be with the heat. xxx

GobblersKnob · 10/08/2013 20:14

Don't use remover, it will ruin your polish, get some proper thinner.

SirChenjin · 10/08/2013 20:16

It don't find it ruins the polish - I've done this for years and it's been fine. What did you find it did to your polish Gobblers?

GobblersKnob · 10/08/2013 20:23

It's just never the same again, streaky and patchy and does not apply the same, it also takes longer to dry and chips more easily. But then I am ultra fussy about polish am a bit of a laquerhead.

All nail polish bloggers will war against using remover to thin, thinner is not expensive, it's not worth the risk imo.

HomelessAngua · 10/08/2013 20:59

I think the fridge works love985, doesn't do any harm anyway!

littlemissnormal · 10/08/2013 21:01

Have you tried Vinylux Gobblers?

OP posts:
GobblersKnob · 10/08/2013 21:32

No, but I have read lots about it, it's 5 free too which really surprised me, there is a good report here, if you haven't already read it. Pretty Poison is gorgeous.

littlemissnormal · 10/08/2013 21:46

That does look lovely. I was looking at the dark lava as my go to colour is OPI William tell me about OPI which seems to last on my toes but not my fingers!

All the reviews seem too good to be true!

I have lots of OPI but I don't think it is great chip wise, they just make such great colours. I am a big essie fan and find it far more chip resistant. Also recently bought Top and base from a-england and it is seriously good, highly recommended.

littlemissnormal · 11/08/2013 20:51

I have to agree with you about OPI. I wanted a Rouge Noir dupe, was recommended the OPI and thought it was brilliant so bought 4 other colours....not 1 has been as good and has chipped straight away.

Barry M is my favourite so far chip wise.
