DD 12, wants to dye her hair.

I have said she can if we can find a dye that washes out after a few washes. Does such a product exist? I have zero knowledge in this area, as I've never dyed my hair! Should add that her hair is jet black, and she wants a purpley colour.

If her hair is jet black then a wash in - wash out dye won't work. Hair chalks might be an idea.

In my day you could buy 'shaders and toners' which washed out after a few washes -one was dark and one was light haired. Nowadays I use a semi permanent colour in between the hairdresser putting on a permanent colour (saves me a lot of money). I use Boots botanics semi permanent which lasts up to 24 washes, it has a lovely good depth and tone and I get more comments and how lovely a colour it is more so than the hairdressers one! I have a 12 year old DD who says many of her friends want to try the hair chalk thingys. On a side not my DD wants her hair straightened as its a bit wavy and quite frizzy, I've just Brazilianed mine tonight and it was painless so I might do hers this weekend.

Sorry half asleep after night shift just noticed she has black hair so I think chalky things are the way forward. My hairdresser sells them but I think you can get a more kid friendly (aka less effective) version in Claire's

Thanks, I'll check Claire's.
