Boys' shoes for freakishly narrow feet. Any suggestions?

DS (11) got measured today as an adult 1.5 C. Clarks don't make shoes in a C width fitting, but an E with the Velcro pulled tight is ok.
Anyone have suggestions for shoe brands/styles that come up really narrow, as I want to keep ahead of the game if he ever gets aware of brands (he's off to secondary, it'll happen sometime).

Same problem here with DD (11). She's a size 4 with a D width fitting. She's fine with Clarks school shoes but I don't want to pay £40+ for sandals, trainers etc too.

The best thing I discovered for DD was converse high tops. They tend to come up fairly narrow, but with the laces pulled as tight as possible they fit really well. In fact DD doesn't have the converse ones, she has the primark ones for £7 and before that she had some from new look.

Would he consider anything like that?

Had similar problems with dd, and now with dgd. She is 9 and Clarks have never been able to fit her as she is so narrow. We always go to Start-rite. She now measures a 1 D. There's not much choice in a D fitting though. Trainers are not so bad now she can tie laces, but sandals are useless. She insisted on some trendy toe post sandals earlier this year as all her school friends have them. DD let her buy some with her birthday money after warning her they would be no good. Sure enough, she wore them once and her feet slid about in them and gave her blisters. Now she sticks to trainers for play and school shoes for when she needs to look presentable.

I've had a pair of startrites for my ds - trainer style black shoe with Velcro straps you can pull quite tight. I never find boys shoes in a C or D - the best thing is to go to a shop with lots of different brands and ask what staff are fitting for very narrow feet. Styles vary a lot and I usually end up with an E or F which comes up narrower than that.

Thanks everyone, glad to see it's not just my DS.
