Help - stupid pregnant woman covers herself in fake tan by mistake

SeashellHoarder · 08/08/2013 14:04

In desperation at the mosquito bites I have bought some Avon skins so soft from amazon. Applied slap-dash and liberrally last night and this am. Including face, hands and feet. Then I Noticed funny coloured patches and I seemed a bit darker.

The bottle says for medium or dark skin. I am very pale (normally)

Now I am quite patchy, ESP on hands and feet.

Does any one have any ideas what I can do?

Dh thinks its bloody hilarious.

Washing up liquid? Lemon juice? Head and Shoulders?

Don't worry, somebody on here once fake tanned their baby.

BadgersRetreat · 08/08/2013 14:56

a good long soak in the bath followed by a thorough scrub down while you're still wet?

Or a burqua Grin

SeashellHoarder · 08/08/2013 16:17

Thanks for the advice. ESP the burqua.

I can't use a harsh exfoliant because of the huge amount of mosquito bites all over my legs.

I was thinking I should try to reapply it properly to even it out.

Although I should point out I am now the colour of Peter Andre.

I'm not laughing. Oh no no no.

You poor thing.

Vibbe · 08/08/2013 17:30

Get some of those gloves for exfoliating. Exfoliate carefully, just using the gloves and soap (in the shower). Do it every time you shower until the fake tan has been worn off.

Then get some cream for the itchy skin. I find this is enough for me: www.laroche-posay.co.uk/product-treatments/Lipikar/Lipikar-Balm-AP-p755.aspx

Thankfully fake tan wears off in a couple of days.

Annianni · 08/08/2013 18:14

I think boots sell wipes that remove fake tan.

Good luck you poor thing... all I can think of is that episode of friends with Ross and the spray tan :o

SeashellHoarder · 08/08/2013 22:18

Thank you for the suggestions. I'm going to get those wipes from boots and the gloves.

The major problem I have it that it has repelled all mosis - no new bites today ( first time in days). In my derranged hormonal state I'm now considering putting more on to keep the mosis at bay.

It is hilarious - I think the midwives are going to have a good laugh!

Leg waxing removes my fake tan. So maybe wax your entire body??

FreshLeticia · 08/08/2013 22:54

I have Avon skin so soft and it does not contain fake tan. Are you sure you have the right product?

SeashellHoarder · 08/08/2013 23:41

Thanks for the waxing suggestion!!

Yes who knew Avon did a version with self tan in it. I just ordered the one with fastest delivery on Amazon. It doesn't even say self tan anywhere on the label. I had to google it to find out.

The bloody stuff even has glitter in it So I look like Peter Andre going to a disco!

Nail polish remover will get rid of the big stains and smudges. Make sure you shower afterwards, and you will still be dark, but at least your tan will be more even.

DayOldCheesecake · 09/08/2013 06:19

Put on a very revealing outfit, puff up your hair, get some fake nails and go to The Sugar Hut? May as well take the opportunity to work it.

jumpingpillows · 09/08/2013 06:21
Grin
SoupDragon · 09/08/2013 07:20

The major problem I have it that it has repelled all mosis - no new bites today

Perhaps they are either scared of the blotchy pregnant woman or die from laughing Wink

SoupDragon · 09/08/2013 07:22

Was it the "Avon Skin So Soft soft & glow Airbrush Spray"?

RobinSparkles · 09/08/2013 07:32

:o at "Peter Andre going to a disco"!

Whitening toothpaste apparently works if your hands are looking orange, although I don't think I'd recommend it for your whole body!

theladylovescupcakes · 09/08/2013 08:52

I had a spray tan before my hols, and the woman advised that to remove it I should soak in an oily bath for half an hour or so, then use those exfoliation gloves. Worth a try?

SeashellHoarder · 09/08/2013 19:34

Hands better now (still a bit tea stained.)arms

SeashellHoarder · 09/08/2013 19:37

Oops posted too soon...

Arms ok from the elbows up. Legs and feet hideous. Really not a good look on the delivery ward! I think all this posters worrying about their bikini waxes prior to delivery have go nothing on this!

Will try the bath. That defo can't hurt.

SeashellHoarder · 09/08/2013 19:40

Also it's called skin so soft, soft and glow. (its a lotion) Now found out its discontinued, presumably because it is streaky* and makes you look like peter Andre going to a disco.

*could be user error

Go swimming! My fake tan always comes off whenever I have used the pool on holiday.

pettyprudence · 09/08/2013 19:48

When I have had a fake tan the salons have always advised me NOT to use any dove products as it makes the tan fade quicker - maybe stock up on sove shower cream, loofah and body lotion?

missusmrs · 09/08/2013 19:56

Shaving foam! Was on a Gok programme a few weeks ago for removing tan from palms of hands- it works.

sillymillyb · 09/08/2013 20:12

Don't worry, somebody on here once fake tanned their baby.

errrmmmmm..... hello Grin I swear he went normal colour again quite quickly!

Op I recommend toothpaste, those tan removal wipe thingies and lots and lots of bathing!!

2kidsintow · 09/08/2013 20:18

It could be worse. I tipped an entire bottle of nail varnish in my eye thinking it was my eyedrops. At least fake tan mistakes don't require a trip to A&E (and admitting that you did that to yourself!)
