AKA big knickers, of course. I would like to invest in something that stops me looking lumpy when wearing an otherwise quite flattering wrap dress. Should I get one of those -ahem- girdle type things that my great aunt used to sport, or "control pants"?

Does anyone have any recommendations please?

Oh and if there something that gives the arse a little lift too that would be perfect!

shamelessly bumping to say, does no one admit to wearing this sort of thing?!

There was a thread about this recently

NigellasGuest · 08/08/2013 14:58

It seems to just refer to M&S stuff though. But thanks for the link. There must be other makes?

The M&S waist shaper pants are really good, much better than Spanx IMO, and less than half the price.

Arisbottle · 08/08/2013 15:04

I have the flexees things that you can wear with your own bra. Flexees maiden form.

MyNameIsSuz · 08/08/2013 18:52

I actually really like the jml body suit thing you can get in Boots! Really comfy and pretty effective.

SorrelForbes · 08/08/2013 18:57

If you just want to smooth out lumps and bumps rather than compress then Primark do some knickers that come up past your waist and down to just above your knees. £6. They are good value.

GlaikitFizzog · 08/08/2013 19:01

Firstly, are you wearing the right size bra? That makes a huge difference to lurks and bumps for a start. Get thee on an intervention thread immediately if not.

I was a tester of the m&s shape wear and bought these with my voucher. They have held up well and are quite comfortable.

I also have a waist clincher from figleaves which is ok, but not industrial enough for me!

GlaikitFizzog · 08/08/2013 19:01

And as if by magic a bra lady appears!!

homeaway · 08/08/2013 19:17

Didn't trinny and susanna do some magic pants ? I have no idea if they are any good but i reckon if you go to a john lewis you could try stuff on and see what works best for you .

SorrelForbes · 08/08/2013 19:33

GlaikitFizzog It was the magic word (foundation)

GlaikitFizzog · 08/08/2013 19:49

:O Sorrel! I have the primark £6 knickers and they are great from smoothing!

NigellasGuest · 08/08/2013 20:08

I believe my bras fit but you have sown a seed of doubt....

though I don't think that would affect my lumpy arse Shock

second the flexees. £6 new on eBay. bit hard to have a wee, ok if sober. anymore than two drinks make sure you're wearing a patterned dress so no drip marks. tmi. beers tonight.

Arisbottle · 08/08/2013 22:45

Pixie I have cracked weeing in them it is all about having the right force, you can't tinkle in them. But yes you need to be sober to avoid damp patches.

Is there an eBay seller that sells them at that price.

pixiegumboot · 08/08/2013 23:01

yes there is, can't remember who though. I got one black and one nude. not great for hot hot summer but otherwise excellent. think it's the fact the legs don't have that horrible piece of silicone round them.

Arisbottle · 09/08/2013 13:04

I will have a look, thanks.
