That's it really. Their boxer shorts come with a small drawstring bag and DH and I want to know why.

So do mini boden girls pants, It is very pretty but I would also like to know why.

IrisWildthyme · 08/08/2013 06:34

It's fulfilling its function right now - the little bag is making you think of the pants as a significant item rather than an ubiquitous commodity, differentiating them from the uniform indistinguishability of competitor pants.

I'm sure dd would love her pants to come with little bags! She would definitely go to the trouble of using them. DH, not so much!

Yes but why?

CorrieDale · 08/08/2013 06:39

Aaahh! That would be why then! So it is only a matter of time before tesco and primark start doing the same and in 5 years we won't be able to buy unbagged pants at all.

So they can charge a premium price? I'm sure they cost more than the M&S equivalent, so you pay more but you get a few spare inches of fabric.

PersilOrAriel · 08/08/2013 06:41

In 5 years time you'll be buying Joules pants because they're really special and DON'T come in a little bag.

BikeRunSki · 08/08/2013 06:53

My Hush pyjamas came in a matching bag and it is very pretty, but complety pointless.

is it for washing them in?

my mum used to put all our 'smalls' in pillowcase before chucking them in the washing machine. no idea why.

expensive handbags also usually come with a little drawstring bag to keep your bag in.Hmm supposedly tp keep the dust off when storing said bag.

CorrieDale · 08/08/2013 07:59

Yes persil. They'll be described as eco-friendly pants - not baggy.

Boden do it too. I think it's to make me think there's a pair of pants in the kitchen drawer every time I open it.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 08/08/2013 15:26

Handbags need a dust bag to keep them scratch free and protect their beautifullness from the evils of the world. I have a bag obsession so this makes total sense.

Not sure about pants.

piprabbit · 08/08/2013 15:32

My mooncup came in a little cloth bag - which is handy for protecting DH's delicate sensibilities during the 3 weeks a month it sits in the bathroom cabinet.

Pants - I have no idea.
