lowlights v tint : quick question

Which is less damaging ? I have almost black hair, want to go to dark brown... Had lowlights put in a year ago, hair became a bit wiry and lost its wave.

Now the top half of my head is virtually black again, miserable with it, going to colour it but wondering if a tint would be a safer bet.

Thank you!

if you were going to use bleach or highlift as one of the lowlights, this would be damaging, how ever if your hairdresser is just going to use a normal permanent colour for either whole head colour or lowlights there wouldn't be a difference in the amount of damage infact colour puts back moisture, and oils your hair needs, and gives it a nice shine, however not all colours do, please do not use a box dye

Thanks for that needsomesun.. Do you think all box dyes are no good...even the more natural ones from Holland+B?

I'm not sure about them, but some box dyes have certain chemicals in that react with others, for example if you were to use a box tint then next time decide to use a hairdresser with professional colours, when they take a strand test some times colour can react, not a pretty sight. I'm talking fizzing and disintegrating. This has occurred many times with XXL Live Colours.

For ease in your situation if your not going drastically lighter I would advise an all over colour.
