I know the brief was for sheer, but haven't found too many - \link{http://store.monsoon.co.uk/catalog/Welcome?pid=9064\this} struck me as being a bit on the frilly side, as did \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=X37&p=4&s=1&n=Womenswear&pid=991-617-X37&extra=sch&ref=http%3a%2f%2fsearch%2enext%2eco%2euk%2fsearch%3fp%3dQ%26ts%3dcustom%26w%3dshrug%26srid%3dS5%2d7%26lbc%3dnext%26af%3d%26cnt%3d%26images%3don%26srt%3d%26isort%3dscore%26method%3dand%26format%3d%26nb%3d%26np%3d\this.} \link{http://order.next.co.uk/shot.asp?b=G30&p=6&s=1&n=Womenswear&pid=988-018-G30&extra=sch&ref=http%3a%2f%2fsearch%2enext%2eco%2euk%2fsearch%3fp%3dQ%26ts%3dcustom%26w%3dshrug%26srid%3dS5%2d7%26lbc%3dnext%26af%3d%26cnt%3d%26images%3don%26srt%3d%26isort%3dscore%26method%3dand%26format%3d%26nb%3d%26np%3d\This} one is actually pretty cool, and \link{http://www.marksandspencer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Product_Id=2024628&portal=locayta\this} seems perfect except for the tie-up front.
\link{http://www.debenhams.com/jv/product_details_jv.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=9306887&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=7034605&bmUID=1150107905507\This} might be sheer - hard to tell from the pic, and is also available in \link{http://www.debenhams.com/jv/product_details_jv.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=9306631&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=7034605&bmUID=1150108012351\white}.

Further post with non-sheer ones will follow as it seems you can't put more than ten links in a post without weirdness ensuing.

Ooh, couldn't resist a quick look - too, too sparkly, the earlier ones were fab though :)

MrsBadger · 12/06/2006 14:54

FaZ - I've got it

ring 08445616161 and go to Product Enquiries and Postal Sales (think it's 4).

They have it in all sizes except a 10.

You might need to quote product code (which is 0511 OO2565 det _ 64240), and it helps to have it in the browser window open when you're on the phone as they ask the product name over and over again.

good luck!

Franny, could you post a pic of the one you've already got?

You never know, someone may be able to make one for you, or even have one to sell.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 21:13

Oh bother, MrsB, I forgot all about this thread until now and I have just tried them and they seem to have shut down for the night. But will phone and ask tomorrow - I wanted the size 10 but that's ok, I am sometimes a size 12 in tops anyway.

You are so kind to have done all this for a total stranger - I feel quite overcome :)

GamelanCarrier · 12/06/2006 21:14

shall we let Mrs B join the Style Shop Franny?

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 21:17

MrsB is the style shop atm

ChimeBarCarrier · 12/06/2006 21:18
Shock is that right? then let's reopen fran me old mate not tonight though, must log off and cosh my babies to sleep
FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 21:20

check email first oh hodcarrier

ChimeBarCarrier · 12/06/2006 21:23

done

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 21:27

oh what did you think of the shrug btw?

It is \link{http://www.debenhams.com/jv/product_details_jv.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=8953979&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=7552835&bmUID=1150107780304\this one}

Could I carry that off or is it a bit Miss Havisham?

FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 21:29

Why are shrugs good?

I want to get into shrugs.

But something is stopping me.

Possibly my enormous nose.

Hmmm.

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2006 21:30

that was very funny, FJ

FillyjonktheFluffy · 12/06/2006 21:38

oooh these enormous noses are so useful, aren't they franny.

if i could be arsed to change my name again I'd be enormousnosecarrier.

no i wouldn't, thats silly.

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2006 09:05

Will ring in a minute although am losing confidence in my ability to make this look good

Have also found and will bid on \link{http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LADIES-SIZE-12-BLACK-SHEER-SHIRT-WITH-ROSE-DETAIL_W0QQitemZ9330306134QQcategoryZ38443QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem\this} which will sort of do the same job and maybe I could trim it down or something?

MrsBadger · 13/06/2006 09:23

the brown one is way cooler (but I would say that, wouldn't I?) - get it, and if it's wrong take it back.

Not sure buying the blouse would be worth it unless your mum is up for altering another one. Actually if she's that handy could she run you up a couple from scratch? Patterns \link{http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5006.htm\here}

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2006 09:45

I like the blouse anyway, and it'll only be a couple of quid.

Yes I'll return the brown one if it's no good - I love things on free return and hadn't realised Debenhams do it - I may order from them more often

FrannyandZooey · 13/06/2006 11:21

Oh hoorah they have one in a sz 12 in my local store and are holding it for me :)

so I can even try it on first

Thanks so much MrsB you have performed above and beyond the call of duty

(Debenhams customer service people also v helpful)

oh and I won the shirt so have another option as back up - I wanted to have a few different ones so this is great.

MrsBadger · 13/06/2006 12:17

glad success was had - looking at clothes is so much more fun than work that it's nice to get a challenging project now and again Grin.

(was going to offer you blue nail varnish too but though you might think I was stalking you)

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 17/06/2006 12:36

quick update Mrs B - I bought it and have worn it twice already. It is quite flouncy and needs IMO to be worn with something quite plain, so jeans and a strappy top looked nice, OR looks wonderfully dressy with a long hippie style dress. Thanks so much!

Oddly enough I saw the exact thing I was looking for today - sheer, black, very plain bolero - the woman said it was from last year's Next directory.

MrsBadger · 18/06/2006 21:52

yay!

since last night's boiling concert (dress code 'long sleeved full length black') I've discovered I need one of those sheer black ones too!
