I'm old!

Well, I certainly look it. DS is 17 months old and I was 28 when I had him. Most people thought I was younger than this. I'd never noticed myself age at all and had a very simple skincare routine of cleanse and moisturise in the morning, face wipe at night.

Lately, I don't recognise who's in the mirror. I have awful dark circles that even touche eclat can't hide! I have saggy jowls and crows feet and forehead wrinkles. I honestly look like I've aged ten years.

Help please! What do I do? What is a good skincare routine to help me look less haggard?

drink lots and lots if water !! will re hydrate your body - no more than half a pint every half hour - or it will just go straight through you though ! I keep a water bottle on me all the time now ! keep up with your tried and tested beauty regime - but look after your body too ! and get plenty of rest if you feel you need it ! don't try to be superwoman unless you have the outfit to go with it !!!
look after yourself !!! I remember feeling the same at your age - but when I look back on photos I realise I didn't look half as bad as I thought I did !! oh - and smile more - it hides a multitude of flaws by giving others something nice to focus on ! and makes you more fun to be with as people will wonder what it is you have to be so happy about !! :-)

Good ideas thanks! I'm terrible for drinking water, I can go a whole day at work only drinking coffee :/

Rest I will try my very best, DS is a good sleeper (now) but an early riser, and I'm a night owl! Smiling I can do Grin

Give yourself time and you'll get your bloom back. It's about sleep, rest, water and eating well. I did find after each one of my babies, that I looked really depleted until I had given myself some sustained tlc. Natural really for that to be the case. Maybe try a facial oil at night and a lovely new moisturiser over the top? Clarins maybe or decleor. And after that think about masks (I love the una brennan superfacialist ones at boots) and a good scrub (origins modern friction is brilliant) Don't forget a sunscreen and most of all be consistent with the skincare. It's about building yourself up again after the pregnancy :)

Just realised baby is 17m so you're not post-natal exactly, but the advice is the same. Taking care of yourself consistently. Maybe vitamins too.

Thanks for the tips! I probably looked ravaged straight away and never noticed, it's only since I've gone back to work after a year that I've started paying attention to my appearance again and really looking in the mirror. And I don't like what I see!

I shall add pampering and vitamins to the list!
