I think I should be using them to 'open up' my eyes. Tried DDs cheap ones and ended up with bent eyelashes. Confused

Is there a knack to using them? Is there a 'simple to use' one anyone can recommend?

Shu Uemara are supposed to be the only eyelash curlers to have...sure there will be lots of tutorials on YouTube on best technique Smile

Agree Shu Umera (sp?!) all the way. Head and shoulders above any others I've tried.

Shu are the best and the only ones I'd buy. Clamp gently as close as you can comfortably get to the roots, squeeze and slightly lift back towards your eye (hold for a sec), release and do the same in the middle of the lashes too.

I've never been living in a place where I could find Shu Uemura sold in shops, so I've always gone for cheaper eyelash curlers instead. I find that they are fine and curl my lashes well, but naturally, I can't compare with the Shu Uemura ones.

It's all about finding some that have the right curve. I've had some that were very curved, which meant that the ends would catch my skin - and that's not very nice.

I curl the lashes in 3-4 places - start close to the skin, then move along the length of the lashes and curl the lashes in several places along the length. It makes the curl look more natural, compared to if they are curled in one place, which can make the curl look quite harsh, bent and not very natural.

Then apply mascara. You can break the lashes by applying mascara before curling them.
