I'm having my hair done tomorrow and fancy a change. It's medium length, thick and wavy.

Zooey Deschanel fringes were so popular but I don't know if they still are. Cute but too high maintenance for me!

MexicanHat · 31/07/2013 19:56

My best friend has just had a fringe cut in after years of all one length hair, it looks fab!! Go for it - it's good to have a change Smile

moibutbetter · 31/07/2013 20:23

I wanted to have a fringe cut in but my hair dresser said is more difficult to mantain it in the summer especially in a hot/humid weather ( which hopefully is returning tomorrow!!)

Newcupboards · 31/07/2013 23:49

fringes are always in!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/07/2013 23:55

I hope so Grin

I had my one length 'bob' cut to collarlength with a wispy fringe. (after years of one length)
I can pull it into my hair out of the way for work .
Cheaper than Botox to hide your forehead too.

extracrunchy · 31/07/2013 23:57

I have one and like it in winter but it's a pain in the bum in summer - goes all curly and 80s!

FerrisBueller1972 · 01/08/2013 00:15

After many, many years if contemplating a fringe I finally took the plunge. I wish I had mine done years ago!

Also just done the at home keratin treatment on my curly hair. I always have to blow dry it in sections to get it straight (with a large round brush followed by ghd's)

It is a bloody revalation!

Tonight (I'm in Spain) I literally blasted it with hair dryer and it was straight. No brush required!!!

I am totally converted. Totally recommend it to anybody. My hair has never looked or felt better Grin

MexicanHat · 01/08/2013 17:42

Ok Ferris you've convinced me! Have just ordered from Amazon so expecting fab results! Smile I have wavy/sometimes frizzy medium length hair and have to blow dry/use ghd's. Fingers crossed!

LittleBallOfFur · 01/08/2013 17:47

I really want a fringe, but I have a cow lick so hairdressers always say best not too :(

evertonmint · 01/08/2013 17:56

I bloody hope so as I've just had one cut for the first time in 20 years! Taking a bit of getting used to but response from everybody else has been really positive.

I'm having to reshape my eyebrows though! My big thick brows don't look as good with it and i need to thin them a little.

My hairdresser does free fringe trims which I think will be really helpful.

Did you do it?

ilovepowerhoop · 01/08/2013 17:57

I am currently growing mine out after having one for many years

MissMilliment · 01/08/2013 17:59

Littleball, I have a cowlick and a widow's peak, and had a weird up-at-one-side fringe when I was a kid - usually wonky as my mum trimmed it with her dressmaking shears Grin

Now I have a thicker fringe and on days when the world will see me I just run the straighteners through it and it behaves perfectly. If you can get your cowlicky bit flat with straighteners you should be okay with a fringe.

SundaySimmons · 01/08/2013 21:07

I have a fringe and trim it myself using the blue one of these

Passmethecrisps · 01/08/2013 21:08

I've just had one cut in so by that measure I would say absolutely not.

Happiestinwellybobs · 01/08/2013 21:10

I had one a few months ago after 25 years of not having a fringe and I LOVE it :). Go for it. I have had umpteen people saying how much younger I look Grin

FlatsInDagenham · 01/08/2013 21:11

Ah, thank you all but I didn't do it! What a coward! I did have a radical change of colour so I figured one big change at a time. I will keep it in mind for next time.

Littleball I have a cow's lick and have always had a fringe. Last time I had my haircut the hairdresser did a thicker, heavier fringe. No fringe doesn't suit me.

I could do with buying one of those clips Sunday.

It's a good idea not to change too many things at once, Flats. Hope you like your new 'do' anyway.

ThePortlyPinUp · 01/08/2013 21:22

Those clips look amazing, I have a U shaped 'Betty Bangs' fringe which I trim myself so I reckon those clips could come in handy, especially when doing the dd's hair too :)
