How bad are they (how many/how much area does it cover) and how do you get rid of them ?

Not yet but I do have a rather magnificent moustache. I am twirling it as we speak.

I'm going to the beauticians tomorrow to see what she can do with it.

Levantine · 31/07/2013 14:35

Threading? My chin isn't that bad but once when I got my eyebrows done the woman did my upper lip and chin and my face looked much cleaner and brighter. It was really wierd

NoComet · 31/07/2013 14:36

I wave DHs razor at them, I have far too many to pluck, they are to tough for imac or whatever it's called.

I'm far to mean to shell out 100's to haze them lasered and too much of a wimp for wax or threading

CockyFox · 31/07/2013 14:39

I have almost a full beard, I pluck the thick dark ones and ignore the rest. Part of PCOS and of all of it a beard is one of the things that bothers me least.

starfishmummy · 31/07/2013 14:40

I get one or two only and pull them out. But they sprout from nothing to several inches long between me checking in the mirror and arriving at wherever I am going.

evertonmint · 31/07/2013 15:13

I have a lot. Chin and down my throat. I'm just very hairy in general (my pubic hair starts at my belly button and ends halfway down my inner thighs!).

For years I have shaved my chin and neck area as it is the quickest and least painful thing to do, although I've heard it is the worst option. I have tried plucking this past week just for a change - can cope with the chin like that but under chin down throat is just too sensitive, and there's too much of it so it would take ages.

Waxing wrecks my facial skin - makes it very dry and I get rough feeling, almost grazed, patches.

I might try threading actually. Anyone know if they can do it on short shaved hair, or would I need to let it grow to eyebrow length???

Am also contemplating investing in a Philips Lumea because I am so hairy that it might be a money saving in the long term if it really works.

I generally leave my legs and underarms and pubes be, in all their natural dark glory, and don't mind the thicket of downy hair on my cheeks, but I hate my beard :(

confuddledDOTcom · 31/07/2013 15:40

I have about 40 on each side of my chin, just inside the bottom of where the smile line is, if that makes sense. I pluck them as I see them. If I don't they get really long and I start twiddling them Blush

SoSurprised · 31/07/2013 15:44

I get them threaded for a fiver. I have whole chin area covered. Evertonmint they can thread very tiny hair as long as they are out of the skin.

Marlinspike · 31/07/2013 15:45

I have a few - I pluck as soon as I can grab hold of the little feckers. They have increased in number as my eyebrows have decreased (given up the ghost after being plucked for 30 odd years!)

Sometimes I use a ladyshave in the shower.

Rohey · 31/07/2013 15:49

I've just invested in the lumea IPL system at home.. Should do the trick!!! Plucking is way too time consuming and threading and waxing will involve repeat visits. So you could try the springy thing from ebay for about £1.50 which works just as threading does..

KosherBacon · 31/07/2013 15:51

Threading. I get my eyebrows, top lip and chin stragglers done for £4 in total.

evertonmint · 31/07/2013 15:54

Sounds like I should try threading before I invest in a Lumea. My concern would be how long it would last as I suspect hairs will be back within days given I have to shave every other day at least.

JennySense · 31/07/2013 16:22

Mine are bad and I am on number 4 of 6 laser treatments. So far the tache is basically gone and the middle of my chin is hair free. The rest is a bit gruesome but I'm hoping it will be much improved at session 6 and then I'll decide whether to have another course or electrolysis. While you ate having laser you have to shave so that's not helping!

feelthis · 31/07/2013 16:52

An epistick ,

slipperySlip000 · 02/08/2013 14:27

OK, outing myself here, after years of daily razor action (so depressing, why on earth did I start) I have just gone and had my chin hairs threaded (only heard of threading recently). Certainly made my eyes water and has left me a bit red and spotty if you look close up Blush. The woman assured me it's because of the shaving and that it won't be as painful/red next time. Said it should last two weeks until I've been a few times then it should last up to four weeks. Cost me £3!!! Took ten mins!!! So, so, so, HAPPY to give up the daily shave and be able to think about things like going camping with my mates or spontaneous sleepover without having to disguise my secret/shameful daily regime.

Freedom!!!! (hope the redness/spots go by tomorrow). Have treated myself to some nice make up now, as I feel less of a man-bird now. Woop!!

craftynclothy · 02/08/2013 14:42

Where do find such cheap threading places? It was £5 just for top lip done near me.

Have bought an epistick to give it a go.

CVSFootPowder · 02/08/2013 14:44

Where are you all going who are finding threading so cheaply?
Chin at my local salon is £10.

slipperySlip000 · 02/08/2013 14:50

Lively Indian lady, in a little therapy room in her house!

slipperySlip000 · 02/08/2013 14:51

Lovely even, though lively would have been fine

dizzy77 · 02/08/2013 14:59

Funny, I was just reading the pain relief in childbirth thread and was reminded of the time I had my upper lip waxed. Watching as chin trees (have you seen Whoopi Goldberg talk about this? ) are getting more robust by the week, and I hav te tendency to fiddle absent mindedly. My mum is having electrolysis, you need to let them get to plucking length.

Jjcrackers · 02/08/2013 15:12

I have a few dark witches hairs on my chin but a fair bit of blond fur that catches the light - have been threading it for years BUT recently wasn't able to get to my usual lady so I tried my epilator on it. 3rd time round and I don't seem to be having any problems - I guess it it the same as threading; effectively plucking out the hairs.

...far too painful on my tache...
