Powder brush

Does anyone have any idea if there is such a thing as a powder brush that won't shed and leave me looking like a bearded lady? Im fed up of spending ages picking bristles off my chin and out of my cleavage.

I don't mind spending a bit if that's what it takes.

Check out the Real Techniques brushes. They're lovely. I take it you mean for loose powder over foundation?

The best ones I have bought recently are the eco brushes from Boots. They were on 3 for 2 and not one shred has happened! Not a bad price either.

PickleSarnie · 26/07/2013 10:08

Thanks both. I'll check those out.

Yes, for powder goodjam, and bronzer for when I'm attempting to make myself look a little less pasty and blue!!

If you follow Pixiwoo on YouTube, one of them is the founder (?) of the brushes and they have makeup tutorials. Their stippling brush for liquid foundation is brilliant. Good luck!

I got the bare minerals ones as part if the starter kit, they are brilliant. Had them for 2 years and no shedding. Forgot them for an overnight stay recently, spent a tenner on one from Boots and it fell apart first use, ridiculous!

I use the Mac 182 brush for powder and it doesn't shed. Been using it for years. It might have shed when I first got it, can't remember, but I've washed it a few times since then and it never does now.

The Space NK brushes are very good too. I have their blusher brush - it's made from blue squirrel hair Shock I feel bad for the squirrel but it has made a great brush.

There are blue squirrels?!?! Shock

I have quite a few brushes from MAC, and they do tend to shed - the 150 is really bad IMO. I find that to be the case for all brushes with natural hair.

I don't have a powder brush from Real Techniques, but have quite a few brushes from the brand (core collection set, stippling brush, blush brush and expert face brush), and they don't shed. They are generally quite good, but I'm finding them hard to clean properly.

Keztrel · 26/07/2013 16:00

Yes Pickle I just looked them up. They're actually blue-black and from Russia. Its almost certainly unethical to turn them into brushes so ignore my previous post. Space NK brushes are rubbish :)

I have two sets of MAC brushes - the ones that I bought individually in selfridges are A-mazing. 15 years old and still going strong.

The ones that came with a makeup and bag set are seriously shit.
