Please help - from uniform to a work wardrobe

In September, after 17 years of working as a midwife with the lovely uniform to match, I am retraining to be a health visitor. I haven't a clue what to wear. I have three suitable summer dresses (fairly casual) but haven't a clue what to wear in winter.

I am 42 - big boobs but size 14 from chest down. Medium height. Don't know where to start .....

Congratulations on the career change.

What is your budget? Trousers good for out and about type jobs in winter and you'll need some with a bit of stretch assuming you will probably be sitting on floors etc interacting with small children - how about something like M&S black jeggings with Boden scoop neck stripy T in a colour that suits you and a jersey blazer. I have recently discovered jersey blazers and they are fantastic as very comfy but also smart so good when you are at meetings etc.

And flat ankle boots look smart but good for walking or standing in - something like these chelsea boots would work with the above outfit.

I am a CPN so like health visitors am out and about all day. Trousers are your friend in winter! I have some tweed type, a pair of smart coloured chinos and a black pair. Nice tops, cardigans on top.

Long boots and a skirt or skirt/leggings in summer, again nice cardigans ( god that sounds middle aged!)

Congratulations on the career change, health visiting is something I often think about applying for.

Thank you - loving a jersey jacket. Yep - trousers the way to go.
