The very best knickers for a fat apple, and a budget alternative to those, pretty please!

This is an .... awkward subject.

My pants roll down when I walk. I've tried much bigger pants sizes, smaller pants sizes, different shops, to no avail, and now I am at the point where I am prepared to spend a fair bit of cash and look after them nicely, just to get some knickers that fit and are comfortable.

Does anyone know where to go? I'm a size eighteen.

I'm a size 18 too and used to have the same problem. Main issue is that they weren't very high and so would be on the lower half of my belly so would roll down. Even worse if I had tights!
I've bought a pack from peacocks. I think they Kay be called brazillians. They are quite high and they have a little slit in rather leg with a bow. They are in packs of three (polkadot, plain and zebra) but they are the best I've ever bought and I've been through loads!

Thongs that go under your tummy

froggiebabies · 23/07/2013 15:01

The only type I find comfortable (size 18 apple here) are cotton high legs with a good lycra content. M&S have changed their version and not as good anymore. I like them fairly high waisted rather than low rise.

I buy mine in Dunnes Stores these days but as that is an Irish chain store I doubt if it is much help, sorry.

How about Sloggi? These sort www.justsloggi.co.uk/basic_tai_brief

BoysAreLikeDogs · 23/07/2013 15:03

Sloggi big pants don't roll down. So my friend tells me, of course. I She gets from AMazon, often the three packs are on offer. So I understand.

M and s ultimate knickers

ggirl · 23/07/2013 17:17

sainsburys control ones, not good in a heat wave tho as synthetic but v v comfy

tobiasfunke · 23/07/2013 17:19

I use Sainsburys full briefs and are the same size and shape as you. I bought them as large post birth pants and actually liked them so much I bought more. I used to use Sloggis maxis but they are sooo expensive - though they do last years.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 23/07/2013 18:51

M&s full briefs or sloggi full briefs. They need to come up higher than your hips and have full tummy coverage or they will roll down.

I discovered these at a size 24. I am now a 14 and still wear full briefs as they are comfy and also avoid a lot ofvpl issues.

Bippidee · 23/07/2013 18:56

I swear by the m&s modal shorts or same from John Lewis. V comfy, very occasionally roll, but more often than not they stay where they're put! Also very cool in this weather.

mrsyattering · 23/07/2013 19:00

I wear m&s can't remember what they're called but have a stretchy lace waistband and lace legs, come up to belly button "they are huge!" as my 6 year old saysShock but i don't care they are the comfiest pants and don't roll down, also no vplGrin

BrennieGirl · 23/07/2013 19:51

You need some belly warmer knickers. No they are not glamorous but they don't toll down.

Like another poster above, I used to buy Sloggi maxi knickers but I can't afford them any more so now I buy the granny pants in M&S.

MrsCampbellBlack · 23/07/2013 19:53

Hanky panky or the primark cheap versions. They don't dig in and they stay put

Iseeall · 23/07/2013 19:56

Another here to recommend sloggi full briefs. I am size 18, they are true to size, wash, wear and tumble dry a treat.
Well worth the initial outlay imo.

BumgrapesofWrath · 23/07/2013 19:57

I'm a size 20 apple (and I am very apple shaped) and I tend to wear knickers that are "shorts" style so they come under my belly flap. I buy a size under (size 18) so tgeythey sraystay put. I mostly wear M&S

lizandlulu · 23/07/2013 21:41

Both primark and Bon marche do cheap big pants if that's what you decide to go for

dontyouwantmebaby · 23/07/2013 22:25

I'm a 14 apple (have ranged in size from 8-16 in last decade or so) Blush and I swear the most comfortable underwear shape and brand I've ever worn is the Sloggi midi - they have never gone baggy or rolled down.

It certainly must be due to my shape but I can't be doing with high legs or low-rise shorts (even when I was slimmer). I have full size 'briefs' too but they do feel a bit granny-ish and swamp me as I'm short! Some thong styles are comfortable but it trial and error in finding ones that that suit so I don't bother.

cheaper yet good alternatives to Sloggi that I've found are from Sainsbury's - the Tu range or else their softer smooth range (forget what its called but they cost about 5/6 quid a pair), come in white, baby blue or pink.

RonaldMcDonald · 24/07/2013 01:05

I'm not a fat apple but I reckon these are the best keks ever
