Products to make thick straight hair look glossy and feel smooth

My hair is thick and straight and looks glorious when I come out of the salon. I have finally started blowdrying it properly which helps, but it still often looks a bit fuzzy (lots of little bits on top that don't lie flat) and feels more like straw then silk.

I only ever use what shampoo and conditioner was on offer in Tesco. And a little bit of blowdry spray now and a bit of Elnett to hold it when I've blowdried it.

I'm looking for product recommendations to help it look glossier and feel silkier. Any ideas?

Don't want to spend much - can stretch to posh Boots brands but not really salon prices unless it is a really amazing product.

Pantene Smooth & Sleek works for me, particularly the conditioner. It's on offer fairly regularly so you never need to pay full price if you time your purchases right.

But I don't think any product will cure the fly-away ends unless you blow dry your hair salon-style.

Argan/Moroccan oil

They sell it in primark so definitely not going to break the bank

I have ridiculously thick hair and I run it through when it's wet keep well away from the roots and then use a tiny amount as a finishing cream once it's dry

Made a difference straight away but by the third application you can really notice the difference in the condition of my hair

They both sound worth a try! Thanks :)

I usually use a Kerastase Chroma Riche serum which is ££££ but have been trying Elvive Extraordinary Oil (£6 in Asda) which is just as good and smells nicer.

You could also try something like the Babyliss Big Hair styler (the Tresemme equivalent is good, and cheaper!). I have ridiculously thick hair, a mix of coarse and fine, and using the Tresemme styler makes it feel all silky and swooshy.

VO5 do a glossing spray that I finish off with after running straighteners through it.
