I'd quite like a nice long skirt in thin material and preferably in a dark colour. I don't want a short skirt, as having stumpy legs, they just get accentuated by my humungous bump. Also have swollen ankles, so don't want to look like I am walking on a couple of pork sausages.

Anyone got any ideas? I am too fat and it's too hot to trudge round the shops looking for something decent, so I was hoping someone might know of something suitable?

Bugger.

Long tiered skirt under smart casual!

intergalacticwalrus · 08/06/2006 16:37

It keeps telling me there's an error. Maybe I am not worthy of Blooming Marvellous!!! [hrin]

Select maternity and then smart casual. It's called a long tiered linen skirt.

A couple on Vertbaudet too.

intergalacticwalrus · 08/06/2006 16:42

The tiered one is nice, but a bit pricey, as I'll only get 3 months wear out of it (this is my second and deffo my last!)

Sorry, I'll stop being bloody lazy and look online!

Pumpkin Patch - I've got my whole summer maternity wardrobe from them for under £70. So comfortable and good value. This \link{http://www.pumpkinpatch.co.uk/favlooks.cfm?fav_look_img_id=1044&fav_look_section_id=14&fav_look_screen_id=1&web_site_id=3&on_sale_only_flag=0&anchor=1044&thepage=1&viewall=0&QueryNav.offset=1&QueryNav.len=10&#top\skirt} is my favourite at the moment - so comfie in this weather really easy to wash (no ironing needed).

MrsRecycle · 08/06/2006 17:12

Ooh and I know you wanted a dark colour but this one is actually more slimming than a black one I have from them. They have loads of skirts - check out all the pages (page 5 jersey skirt chocolate up to XL for £17.99 looks good value).

have you tried H&M? i got tons of mat stuff from there

and next for 'capsule' stuff

twocatsonthebed · 08/06/2006 18:01

I am so with you on the stumpy legs, so i have \link{http://www.cravematernity.co.uk/CraveMaternitySite/product/Skirts_Smart%20skirts/SKT150.htm\this one} and it is lovely and comfy, and also v flattering as cut on the bias. The fabric is quite thin, and you can dress it up or down, depending.

hth!

intergalacticwalrus · 09/06/2006 08:52

Envy I want it! I went to PP last night and had to hold myself back from buying it as I have enough skirts to keep me going over the summer.
