Yet another bra thread - my measurements are ridiculous!

I could do with some advice from the bra experts!

I took my measurements are recommended and ended up with 36in under / 53in over Blush.

Bra history:

Have been wearing a 36J nursing bra (Royce Jasmine) as fitted at R&P since DS1 was born in Feb 09, due to extended breast feeding, pg with DS2 and now extended bf with DS2 (was last fitted Apr 12, just before giving birth).

On the odd occasion I have worn a non-bf bra, I have used one of my pre-pg bras (also fitted at Bravissimo & R&P) which are 36H / 36HH - I can see the cups are too small, but for an evening out they were ok.

Now the bf bras I wear day to day are generally ok, but the middle bit doesn't sit flat as I have seen recommended, plus the cups look too small as my boob occasionally 'creases' by my armpit.

I want to see if I can find a better fitting bf bra, plus a non-bf bras that I can wear when I go out.

To add to the tale - I have just this morning tried on two Panache bras in a 36K that I ordered on Friday - both of which were miles too big in the cup, even with scooping. The under wires on both actually sat round to the back of my armpit and the bottom of the cup had nothing in it apart from my chest wall and the top was completely baggy.

So what size do the experts recommend I try in both bf and non-bf bras?

first question-have you scooped in the new bravissimo ones?

WhenDoISleep · 23/07/2013 18:22

yep - scooped everything I possibly could - both sides several times.

Left with gaping cups and an empty cup bottom.

Plus the wires were definitely in the wrong place - pre DC I only ever wore underwires and I would say these were sitting a good 2in back from where they should be.

Ok - your 36HH non maternity bra is too small in the cup is that right? I'm guessing that means you are probably somewhere in the 36J/JJ range for wired bras too. Your nursing bras will never sit flat between your boobs because they are non-wired. They just don't have the structure to enable them to do that - all the other fit checks work, but that one just doesn't

Thanks - shall try and get some 36J/JJ to try this week.

Is there any point seeing if a slightly larger cup would be better in the nursing bra as sometimes the cups do look too small.

It may be worth trying - how old are they? I'm wondering if they have just stretched a bit as I seem to remember mine did. It also needs to be big enough all the time which is a tricky balance

Oldest nursing bra is 4yrs, newest two are literally brand new - one hasn't been worn yet (but was bought a few months ago so can't return). All the others are in between those ages.

The oldest prob have stretched tbh - will try the unworn one in the morning and see what it fits like.
