Sorry, it's another bra thread...

Currently wearing a 34E. I know that's not the right fit for me - bras don't seem to give enough uplift (if that's the right word) and the cups gape at the top.

Anyway...measured myself using the method on here - 30" around the band and 40" around the fullest part. On the chart I estimate that should make me a 30GG.

Tried quite a lot of bras on today. 30s and 32s; F, FF, G and GGs. I still don't seem able to find the right fit. 30 bands just feel too bloody tight, and I end up with a bit of back fat and fat bulging out by my armpits.

Which size am I likely to have the most luck with, and I will try shopping again? I have to admit I am a bit dubious about my 40" measurement - my boobs are quite droopy at a 90 degree angle, so I'm wondering whether it's a falsely large measurement if that makes sense?

I would be so happy to finally find a bra that fits.

You should be scooping he fat from under your armpits into the cups.

A 30 will fill tight as you've been wearing a 34, it does take a few days to get used to. Are you wearing it on the loosest clip?

ps I am in no way an expert, just saying trust the tape measure, and scoop and take it from there Smile

Furball · 21/07/2013 22:46

so reach into the cup with your opposite hand and scoop from round the back

DoctorRobert · 21/07/2013 22:49

Yep was scooping everything in and wearing on the loosest clip.

Any idea on which cup size I should be aiming for?

This could possibly be a style issue. I do think you should stick with the the 30s. Make sure you try each bra on back to front first to check the band size. If it feels ok but then feels too tight when on the right way, it's a cup issue. It sounds to me like you poss it need to go up another cup or two. Which bras/styles did you try?

DoctorRobert · 22/07/2013 09:15

I mostly tried t-shirt bras in debenhams, that's what I'm after really

Hello, I found this too when I was told to size down and cup-up. HOWEVER I finally discovered that the balcony styles work for me as they tend to have wider sides so don't push blubber out so much, and everything just sits nicely on the shelf. Hope that helps!

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/07/2013 09:51

debenhams gorgeous which is probably what you were trying runs small in the back. try a Freya deco maybe. However moulded bras rarely give as good a fit

DoctorRobert · 22/07/2013 22:27

Thanks statistically. Yeah they were from the Gorgeous range I think - interesting that they run small, as that's what I'm mostly wearing atm, so maybe my 34s are nearer to 32s?

What styles do you recommend I try instead? (will look out for the Freya deco)

So should I be looking at 30GG?

StatisticallyChallenged · 22/07/2013 22:44

that's where I would start yes

SorrelForbes · 22/07/2013 23:38

Perhaps try a balconette or half cup?
