Bugger. Bought a dry clean only dress...

In my state of utter excitement at a. being out of the house and b. finding something that actually fits three weeks post baby I picked up a dress yesterday in the sale. Only to get it home and find it is dry clean only (100% viscose). Does 'dry clean only' actually mean just that? Or would a delicate wash do? Thinking baby sick and dry clean clothes not a good combination! It may be a hormonal panic buy but I really don't want to have to take it back Sad

I would risk a cold delicate wash. It may shrink a bit though...

Handwash in cool water with Woolite or similar, and then dry flat or over a clotheshorse (not pegged on the line). Though as orangeandemons says, it may shrink a little.

Thank you. Looks like I'm stuck with dry cleaning costs Sad. won't be wearing the dress as much as I thought then! Will check labels next time I spy a bargain.

I regularly wash dry vlean only stuff. Last week dd2 was trying to be helpful and put my washing on and dried it in the tumble. My coast skirt was in there. It is fine. No harm done. I'd risk it for a dress, but not a taylored jacket.
