Right I'm just going to ask- hot weather chaffing?

I am size 16, currently dieting (lost half a stone so far) after dd.

I do not want to buy lots of new clothes yet as motivation for me to lose weight. But this hot weather is a nightmare.

I have a lovely maxi dress and a few skirts, but I find the hot weather means my thighs sweat (nice!) and rub together. It hurts.

Is there any solution without wearing shorts underneath!

Talcum powder :)

candycrushhater · 18/07/2013 09:57

I have comfort shorts from Evans this year for the first time. The material is thin enough to let your skin breathe and you still feel all cool and breezy whilst wearing a dress. They are a revelation!

OneLittleLady · 18/07/2013 10:11

I second the comfort shorts from Evans. MY thighs rub together no matter how big or small I am so they have been a very joy filled discovery

anothernamechangerreally · 18/07/2013 10:14

Just looked at the comfort shorts. Do you really not get massively hot in them?!

JamEyelid · 18/07/2013 10:15

A few years ago I went on holiday and got horrible chaffing so I searched the internet and found this www.bodyglide.com/ that runners use.

I just got back from two weeks away, wearing mainly skirts and there was zero chaffage. I absolutely love this stuff.

I have the normal one but they do a ladies one although I'm not sure what the difference is.

GreatGooglyMoogly · 18/07/2013 10:17

How does the sizing work on the comfort shorts?

outingmyselfprobably · 18/07/2013 10:22

No you don't get hot in them, I actually feel cooler as my hot sweaty thighs aren't rubbing together!

1 is smaller and 3 is biggest.

I reckon any size would do. They are small looking (light tights) and stretch.

Sativa · 18/07/2013 10:23

My friend cuts down a pair of tights, leaving just enough to cover the problem area - she swears by it although I haven't tried it yet Smile

Shodan · 18/07/2013 10:34

Roll on deodorant. Lasts all day.

Trumpton · 18/07/2013 10:37

I have just ordered the sloggi long legged knickers. They are cotton and were recommended on here. I do folk dancing wearing a cotton petticoat topped by a silk petticoat topped by a wool skirt. We are about to go and dance in Spain so I expect to get very hot . I hope they work .

BuntyCollocks · 18/07/2013 10:44

I use body glide - no chaffage!

herbaceous · 18/07/2013 10:50

I have the Evans comfort shorts too. I'm a 14, and the 'small' fit fine, despite saying they're for size 16-18.

I wear them for days I know I'm going to be doing a lot of walking, but for just pottering about days I put Mitchum roll-on on my thighs to prevent the sweat, and thus the chafing. Admittedly by the end of yesterday it had worn off, but then it was 32degrees!

slug · 18/07/2013 12:22

Antiperspirant between the thighs for the sweat followed by a little puff of talcum powder to stop the chafing.

WildThongsHeartString · 18/07/2013 13:44

Asda Baby - Liquid Talc. Cheap, smells lovely and it works!

janmoomoo · 18/07/2013 15:56

Antiperspirant works a treat, roll on or spray, easy to reapply thru the day. I can also confirm the Asda baby liquid talc is effective and dirt cheap.

I found those shorts things too hot and the body glide didnt work for me.

Trumpton · 21/07/2013 18:12

Just wore my sloggi shorts for a dance session in the very hot sunshine. I like them . I felt no hotter and a lot more comfy. Winner, I think.

auldspinster · 21/07/2013 22:10

Mitchum antipersprant works for me but I also wear cotton long line knicks by la redoute.

LizzyDay · 21/07/2013 23:21

Yep anti-perspirant does the job - lash it on (or spray) around the knicker line and liberally between thighs.

If you're spraying prob best to do it after knickers are on.

PavingAnotherRoad · 23/07/2013 23:12

Anyone who has worn the long-leg Sloggis - am looking at them online - can you confirm whether they have a 'gusset' or just a single seam in the crotch (like cycling shorts, iyswim). I can't find any info online about the construct of them, and can't quite tell by the picture (that I've now been examining far too closely, for far too long! Confused )

Trumpton · 24/07/2013 03:24

Gusset and very comfy Grin
