Good shampoo/conditioner/product/styling tips for thinning hair?

Hi,

I have fine hair which is starting to go quite thin on the top and sides. No idea why it's happened but I'm getting very self conscious about it.

Please can anybody recommend anything I can use to make it appear thicker? Shampoo, conditioner, product or styling tricks?

Thanks.

My sister who has extremely fine hair uses hair million. It is available on eBay or one of the shopping channels and Amazon. It is a very fine powder which makes hair look thicker. My sister in law also swears by this product. Hope this helps.

Also Tresemme have a keratin shampoo and a conditioner which comes in a reddish coloured bottle my sil finds it very good. Saw some in Superdrug other day they had it on offer. Sorry I'm a bit of a technophobe and haven't mastered smiley faces etc! Lol

I have the same problem Empross. Had blood tests which came back normal. I am very peri-menopausal and think that's contributing.
These are my best finds:

  1. Mane Hair Thickening Spray (recommended by my hairdresser). If you go on their website it will tell you about it. I ordered my first bottle from their website but found it in a shop in town called Hair Plus that sells hairpieces, extentions etc. It fills in wide partings and covers thin spots and doesn't run even in this weather. Takes shampoo to get it out. It does mark pillowcases but washes out easily.

The other thing that helps me are hair wraps (basically scrunchies made of hair!LOL) I put my woefully thin hair up in a ponytail, put a chopstick through it sideways on and thread a wrap over one end, shove my own pony through the hole and over the other side of the chopstick. It looks very very natural. What with the Mane spray and the wraps no one would know how incredibly fine/see-through my hair is. I get the wraps from Hair Plus but you can order them online through hothair.co.uk.

I have started taking ferriglobin supplements and applying castor oil to my scalp and coconut oil to the ends and leaving this combination on for a few hours before shampooing out. Too early too say whether this is doing anything however. If nothing else though really recommend trying Mane.
