Graduation outfit help needed

I graduate on Wednesday morning and haven't a clue what to wear under my gown. I've left it all a bit late really and now am struggling to find anything online that can be delivered in time. I was thinking maybe a classic black shift dress, not really sure to be honest. Any advise or help n would be very much appreciated!!

google graduation photos and see which you like the look of.
About 3 years ago, imo, the best outfits were those who wore some combination of black and
white underneath.
Just my opinion though.

Ooh hadn't thought of googling for pics! Thanks!

I always think you can't go wrong with a pencil skirt and white blouse or a black dress.

Congratulations by the way.. well done. Don't forget to take some little pins as the robes tend to slip (and a few Kirby grips for you cap).

I wore a long sleeve white blouse to my first graduation and didn't realise the gown was short sleeves. Hate that photo. When I graduated for my pgce I wore a short sleeves top which was much better.

What about something like this??uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_17,mon_17.10/2532170114 Too much? I have a black pencil skirt so could just get a white blouse instead. I'm 30 and a size 14 if it makes any difference, not sure it does!

Well done. A classic black shift dress would be ideal. It looks very smart. At my uni we've been agog at the incredibly short nightclub style dresses and hooker heels on show. Remember you'll have to walk up to be hooded and receive your psrchment and you'll spend a lot of time on your feet so choose a smart but comfortable shoe. Most of all enjoy every minute of it!

Agree with Debora. At the uni where I work, some of the girls look like they're auditioning for Spearmint Rhino, not graduating. Classy, elegant and low key is the way to go.
Plus Kirby grips for mortarboard and a couple of safety pins in your pocket in case your gown slides around.

definitely some nice plain black shoes, the only bit they will see!

We had to wear black and white. I work a knee-length 'work' shift dress with a white shirt underneath (was a long time ago).
