Crepey chest is a coming, help me stop it

I'm not and have never been very good at looking after myself (I just don't seem to have the pampering gene) plus 2 young ones that keep me very busy. Finally got 8 month old down at 10.20 and she will wake at least 3 or 4 times before 3 year old does 0 - 60 at 6am tomorrow morning Hmm

I am in agreement with so many topics on here, what the fuck has happened to my face, it's just got so old. I am a little bit old Smile but seriously my face should match what's in my head I used to be pretty ok. I am congratulating myself because 5 nights in a row I have thrown a facial wipe across my face and chucked some biotherm stuff on.

Today I am facing up to the fact that my chest is getting the first shadows of crepiness (sp?) you know what I mean, look at your mother. What can I do/use to stop it or at least slow it down and what should I be using on my face. For years for a moisturiser I have just used Astral, I like that thick cold cream type moisturiser and it gives a bit of a help to get a dewy look.

Help oh clever S and B folk.

The best way to avoid crepey chest is to build up the chest muscles. I was starting to get awful temporary lines on my chest every morning, once I started exercising the muscle underneath that area grew and my boobs can't actually make the area crease anymore.

sunscreen:o that upper chest area is presented to the sun probably more than the face is, and the skin is as delicate...possibly more so (?)

Better still keep it covered, mind you it is hard to find nice tops which dont have a too wide or too low neckline.

Seriously I am religious about keeping this area protected from the sun, I'm not so far off 50 and it's not crepey.

For moisturizer I often just use olive oil

Haven't a whole lot to offer but stay out of the sun and wear a high SPF if you're in the sun. That will slow down the crepiness getting worse. A lot depends on your skin type.
I always remember Trinny and Susannah interviewing Meryl Streep outside some awards ceremony or other, and Meryl had a low-cut neckline on her. Her chest/décolletage was perfect, no lines, no freckles, nothing. Trinny almost assaulted her, pulling at her skin etc, and commenting on its perfection. I remember it cos Ms Streep appeared so shocked by these very forward women pulling at her chest, and her skin was unbelievably perfect. I wonder can you do glycolic peels or IPL on a chest. Ms Streep was certainly doing something for her skin to be so perfect.
Sorry for the ramble.

Someone more knowledgeable will be around soon.

Totally agree about the keeping it covered, I have been guilty of not doing that of late, feeding DD2 is easier with a lower top plus I have now got massive boobs, God only knows what the proper as per Mumsnet measurements would be and the lower V type necks are more boob slimming. I am going to start putting the kids factor 50 on there.

Skittle what exercises do I need to do? I found your post really interesting. I am also trying to lose weight still got about a stone to go, maybe my boobs will return to their normal size with weight loss and when I stop bf(although I know they I'll never return to the lovely pert boobies they once were).

Anything chest-centric helps - chest presses, push ups, and others that I don't really know how to describe.

This is incredibly random and you're within your rights to laugh your arse off, but I folllowed this routine from the 80s! (I put all 9 videos in a playlist to keep it going) It's very focused on the upper body. But, definitly an acquired taste Grin

I forgot about sun damage, my chest started to go crepey because I'm a side sleeper with big boobs!

If meryl's chest was perfect she may have had fillers- yes, they can use those to plump up cleavage and chest wrinkles.

Keep your weight down, exfoliate, cleanse and moisturise. Also remember sunscreen and swim lots when you can.
