Shiny hair, how do I get it?

I've heard talk of Moroccan hair oil, would it help? Where can I get some? My hair is so dull and looks v dry in the ends. It's been trimmed fairly recently, shoulder length and mousy with highlights, it's also very fine ( I'm not painting a good picture!).
What would you suggest to make me hair all shiny and nourished looking?

Keep trying different shampoos til you find a couple that suit your hair, and then rotate those, occasionally trying new ones when on offer.

Find a deep conditioning conditioner for your hair type (anti friz here, and loving Aussie shampoo and argen oil one by one of the big brands atm), and leave to soak in for 3-5 mins occasionally (eg apply, then shave legs, then rinse out)

I HAVE THE DEFINITIVE ANSWER

Buy some pure coconut oil from Tesco and coat your hair in it weekly before washing it out. Shiny hair will be yours.

I also have very fine hair. If I use volumising anything (ie shampoo/conditioner/etc etc) it has volume but not as much shine. If I use non-volumising, my hair is gloriously shiny (it is very dark) but erm...a bit limp.

When washing your hair, do the final rinse in as cold water as you can stand. Something to do with smoothing down the follicles in the strands of hair.

Thanks Pands and Melanie. Interesting what you say about volumising product=no shine, I totally agree!

I've found Aveda volumising tonic still leaves my hair shiny. I then ruin it by using some shaping wax...

Oils just make mine lanky, coconut oil in particular was awful for it, made it dull as well. I think the biggest help is not blow-drying or using straighteners. I use an intensive mask from Lush on mine once a week, which makes it silky without losing volume. I also avoid shampoo with SLS in and conditioners/products with silicone in.

I would target this from the inside, your hair is dead - it grows from inside and not from the ends. So I figure to make it healthy and shiny you have to start with diet?

Theres loads of foods recommended for shiny hair. Found this: www.webmd.com/beauty/hair-styling/top-10-foods-for-healthy-hair

Fortunately ive never had an issue with shiny hair as my hair is just so darn oily - PCOS sigh have to wash it every frikin day!

Anyway, hope that helps!
