Seriously, would you dry clean this?

What gives?
You would more or less have to wash this after each wear, especially in summer, right?
It is viscose and beaded, but would you actually dry clean it each time?

I don't even think it is worth the sale price, but I do have a crazy soft spot for it and feel nervous of next pay day Grin

Here it is:

I would hand wash it carefully.

I'd hand wash too. Put some detergent in warm water. Let the top sit in it for a while.
Gently scrub the arm pit areas with a soft nail brush. Rinse. (I'd probably put it on a hanger over the bath and use the shower head with cold water to rinse. No faffing with constantly filling and emptying the sink)

Hand wash with a gentle detergent like Dreft. I almost never bother the dry-cleaner other than for suits and winter coats, though.

And *wallaby, that rinsing-with-the-showerhead idea is truly inspired - I'm nicking that!

"Dry clean only" - > handwash me
"Handwash only" - > gentlest cycle on washing machine

Them's the rules.

Thanks everyone!

I use Woolite for handwashing stuff (wool, tees, underwear, etc), would this be ok?

(That said, I dare say I won't succumb to this purchase if I have any sense!)

Are you sure, Trills?

I always worry about this. I did wash a Uniqlo merino jumper in machine and it turned out great. When I had washed one (as specified) it bloody shrunk!

Hand wash with water that is much cooler than washing-up water!

Reastie · 08/07/2013 16:00

I wouldn't buy anything that I would actually have to dry clean! If I bought it I'd also try gentle hand washing, but, given its colour and price it's going to take alot of effort to get any marks out (if you do manage to...) and alot of money should cool hand washing cause problems

cardamomginger · 08/07/2013 16:03

Cold water only!
