Can anything be done for a double chin other than surgery?

I've noticed it the past couple of months and now it;s bothering me.
It isn't horrific but I hate it.
Other than lipo which no doubt costs a fortune even for a tiny area like that, can anything be done?

Strawberry laser Lipo? Totally non invasive.

SirRaymondClench · 06/07/2013 22:14

Does it work though? I don't know anyone who has had it

I've had it on my tummy. I lost 5 inches.

SirRaymondClench · 06/07/2013 23:16

Really? Has it stayed off? Could be a good option if it works

how long is Strawberry meant to last for?

Callmedreckly · 07/07/2013 05:44

Is Strawberry permanent?

Local clinic is offering it at £400, reduced from £800.

Ive been looking into getting rid of mine OP, I looked at Smartlipo, but prices start at £1800.

FoxyHarlow123 · 07/07/2013 06:05

Would it be too obvious to suggest losing a bit of weight?

BlackSwan · 07/07/2013 06:56

Foxy...no it wouldn't be obvious. It might be insensitive. It might also be bad advice. It's often genetic, the double chin that is (insensitivity is learned not inherited).

Murraylover · 07/07/2013 07:46

Even if you inherit, a bit of swimming will make a huge difference.
science

AKissIsNotAContract · 07/07/2013 08:11

Yeah it has stayed off for me. A friend of mine had it on he chin and it worked for her. £400 is a lot though. I paid less than £200 for four sessions.

missbopeep · 07/07/2013 08:45

If you are overweight then the odds are you'll have a double chin.
Not being insensitive- just stating the obvious.
If you have lipo then the odds are the chin will just come back.

If it's jowls and not fat then you need a neck lift/ tuck.

Relaxedandhappyperson · 07/07/2013 08:49

Losing weight is the obvious answer.

Ladies used to go around slapping themselves under their chins to get rid of the double one (according to my now-deceased great aunt her teacher did this in the 1920s). I don't know that it was very successful.

yegodsandlittlefishes · 07/07/2013 09:33

I understand that not everyone can lose weight, but after using my Wii fit almost every morning for over a year, and also eating little (so my weight started to slowly go down) I eventually lost weight, and the double chin went with it. It also means my joints and heart are not under the strain they were.

Callmedreckly · 07/07/2013 11:50

Im a size 10, but with an awful profile.
Receding chin, & overbite on top teeth.
So it looks like I have loads of chins!
I hate looking in the mirror. Am definitely going to look into it OP.

SirRaymondClench · 08/07/2013 14:19

I'm a size 10. Well 8-10. So not overweight but I am 41 so everything isn'y perhaps as perky as I would like.

They used to sell something like a blue ball for toning the chin. Couldn't find that but there is this instead. No idea if it works but cheaper than alternatives.

Fantastic! So maybe my great-aunt's teacher was right in the 1920s after all...
